Full description

Drift slowly past 2,000 years of Louisiana history on this boat tour. Encounter the beautiful nature and wildlife of the swamp in the company of your expert captain guide.

Set sail with your captain, a native of the Barataria Swamps with a background in alligator hunting, fishing and trapping. He will tell you all about the ecology of the swampland. You'll also learn about the culture and lifestyle of the Cajuns of the Bayou and see plenty of wildlife, including birds, snakes, turtles and alligators.

The boat passes calmly through beautiful, moss-draped trees and soft waterways for ample opportunities to take pictures. Enjoy an entertaining, educational and exciting tour with a relaxing view of this unique landscape. Note that in the winter, gators mostly hibernate, except to soak up some sun on warmer days, but your local tour can sometimes spot a sunbathing gator for you on the tour.

This was the highlight of our New Orleans trip! Captain Matt was hilarious & knew his stuff. We got to hold baby alligators. We saw wild boar, cranes, bald eagles & alligators. We read a review where someone complained about how close he got to the alligators and booked it right away lol!

It was such a great experience. The amount of time spent on the way there and back was accurate. We had more than enough time on the boat to see multiple gators and learn about the area's history and facts about gators. In addition, the tour guide was lively and made the experience great. He also showed us a little gator he had with him. 10/10 would recommend. There was also a cover on our boat so that helped when it rained.

We were about 2 hours on the water and saw a lot of alligators. Our guide had funny anecdotes, but also a lot of interesting information in stock. We intentionally chose the quiet, leisurely boat tour rather than the noisy airboat...right decision! So it was a really relaxed and nice ride because the boat is also covered and you can sit in the shade.
