We didn't have the lunch, but the tour was great. The boat is fine, and I actually didn't know that it stopped at the battlefield halfway through. The historian/narrator is the life of the party, though. His knowledge of the area is spot on. I didn't expect to cry on the tour, but his telling of Katrina is masterful. If you don't want to be moved and just want to chill, stay at the bar and listen to the music for that part, but if you want to feel something, stay outside and have a tissue handy. The bar tenders are also great... Lovely bloody Mary on the cheap.

We had a nice time. The line gets long about an hour prior to boarding, so arrive early. There was a guy singing while we waited in line, he definitely helped make time go a little faster. The cruise was educational and covered a lot of history. We opted out of the meal and very happy our decision aftern seeing the food. Our guide was great and told a story, including his personal experiences.

On January 7th when we visited the Chalmette battlefield, there were a lot of re-enactments and those who participated were very good about sharing historical information. The cruise on the Mississippi River was pleasant and a professional historian was aboard who explained different things via their speaker system. Overall a great historical tour/cruise.
