What people are saying about National Museum of Egyptian Civilization

We booked this tour with a German-speaking guide. You can also book this tour without a guide with preferential admission. Our guide Farag was very competent and explained everything to us very well. When it got to be too much for us, he broke off and showed understanding. He got involved with us excellently and also gave us the freedom to explore something independently. About the tour: The old Egyptian museum makes an impressive impression from the outside thanks to the colonial style. Inside it is a bit more sober, which is mainly due to the outsourcing of works of art to the new national museum. The part of Tutankhamun is very good but also heavily frequented. The National Museum afterwards was better for us. The digital show in the courtyard of the hall is great and the mummy gallery is also great. It's just a pity that you are not allowed to take photos in the gallery. In the age of digital photography without a flash, the operators should rethink something.

Bus trip too long, estimate of 5 hours we went to 8 hours because too many stops during checks, sometimes up to 30-45 minutes ... The guide was super pleasant and very professional, lots of explanations, I recommend. The only downside is the restaurant where we were brought back, a real factory to sell bland food, bordering on the inedible. The guides and drivers of the bus were also great. Anyway, next time, I'll take the plane, more expensive but I think it will be less tiring ...

We were happy with the trip, our guide Moshera was very knowledgeable and kind and took great care of us. As seems to be the case with all similar trips based on reviews, they take you to several other places like the Papyrus gallery and perfume museum which try to get you to spend extra, so be prepared for that. The transportation was in a minivan which was clean, comfortable and air conditioned, and we were able to sleep while on the road.

Driver and guide very punctual and pleasant. The guide accompanied us very well. The day was well paced. The guide chose to start with the less crowded Museum of Civilization in the morning, lunch was delicious, all in a brand new car!

Excellent our guide Sarim, very knowledgeable of the issues, patient, accommodating and friendly. Also very good photographer. We give it 6 stars
