Full description
A walk in Pompeii is an experience unlike any other; the city still feels as lively as ever. Learn about the history of the town and how the Romans lived with a tour of all the most important public buildings and private houses. Herculaneum is much smaller but better preserved than Pompeii. While Pompeii was covered in 4 to 5 meters of ash, an avalanche of mud 20 meters thick buried Herculaneum. Second storeys, carbonized wooden objects, intact paintings and mosaics are still fully visible. The city comes back to life with your guide's explanations. The tour of Pompeii lasts 2 hours and includes a detailed look at the western part of the ancient town, the location of the most important public buildings, homes and shops.

Excellent visit! The Ilaria guide who accompanied me on the two sites for a private visit in French is very professional and does not count her time and does not hesitate to go over time to satisfy her client. Passionate about her profession and the historical period, she enriches the visit with interesting anecdotes. Thanks again to the agency for sending me this Ilaria guide.

Our guide Fabio From Askos tours was fantastic!!! An anthropologist by training, he was able to help us really envision what life must have been like across ancient society. He tailored his discussion to our interests while providing an excellent overview. We really cannot day enough good things about him. If you are lucky enough to visit, try and ask for him by name.

Well worth the money--Sergio was super!

I had read many reviews about both Pompeii and Herculaneum tours and was very glad that we booked a tour to see both. The sites are so different and when viewed together, provide a much more resolved view of what happened to these cities. The flexibility of our guide as to start time, logistics, and what we actually saw at both sites was also very helpful.
