Friendly, knowledgable guides who were extremely helpful and I felt comfortable being an elder lone female traveller. The city tour was set at an enjoyable walking pace in places and then by minibus in other parts. visit to Pompeii again was unrushed and guide was helpful and explained things well. Unfortunately I was unable to do the climb to the top of the volcano due to an accident the week prior to travel but the guides went out of their way to help keep me company whilst waiting for the rest of the group

The tour was excellent in the beginning with Elisa- superb. She spoke slowly in Spanish, English and Italian and clearly enunciated every word in every language. I felt as though I learned a lot of interesting and new information about Naples from her, and her love of her city was contagious. Francesca took over in Pompeii, and while she was good, she was difficult to understand. Several of us noted that if we could read her lips while she spoke, we could better understand. The meal was subpar, but that is understandable with such a large group. Finally, the bus ride up to the base of Vesuvius was great; however, the guide told us very little information. I think there was no need for his presence unless it was as a medical/emergency backup, for the driver could have had a written script to read in both English and German providing the tidbit of information our guide gave. All in all- a great day. Make sure you take plenty of water, though!

This trip was great. I would definitely recommend to friends. Elisa was fabulous! There were 6 of us in our group. We were the first ones picked up. We then picked up others. If you don’t have much time in Naples I would definitely recommend doing a tour that includes Naples. After the short tour of Naples we headed to pompei where we met up with a much larger group and were given headsets to hear Elisa. Where good walking shoes. The tour is about 2 hours. Then we got a great lunch with option of pizza, lasagna, or salad. Our group had all 3 and liked them all. And option of 1 drink: water, soda, or beer. We then got on a bus and were taken to my Vesuvius where the hike was mostly up hill. Once again would recommend good shoes such as sneakers. There was no guided tour doe this part but I didn’t feel it was very necessary. My group is very physically fit so we had ample time to walk all open areas.
