Full description

Each winery will offer between 4 and 7 wines for a tasting split between reds and whites. 

Chardonnay is the dominant white wine variety produced in Hawkes Bay, but lovers of Sauvignon Blanc should not worry, as you'll also be tasting that at Mission Estate. Shiraz and Bordeaux blends are some of the dominant red varieties.

The first estate winery you'll visit is Mission Estate, which was established in 1851. The tasting hall and associated restaurant are located in a two-story Victorian mansion that offers magnificent views over the vineyards.

The National Gin Distillery, where you'll get to taste five gins.

Then, take a 20-minute drive past the orchards and vineyards and arrive at Askerne Estate producing only 100,000 bottles of wine split between 13 different varietals. This will be a seated tasting with a complimentary cheese board of New Zealand cheeses.

Afterward, travel back to Napier for drop-off in the early evening.

The tour was absolutely fantastic! Ross provides some amazing facts throughout the journey making it even more enjoyable. The vineries were selected perfectly and ending with some cheese and crackers was a lovely touch! If you find yourself looking for a wine tour to do in Napier, look no further. Definitely recommend 🙏🏼

Picked up bang on time, Ross was very friendly and knowledgeable. We visited 3 vineyards, Mission, Brookfields & Linden. Apparently there was an option to have lunch first at Mission, but I didn’t see that to book it, it looked well worth doing. Really liked the Malbec at Mission, and the Chardonnay at Brookfield’s was the best I’d ever tasted and it’s not normally a wine I like. They also had a very nice cabernet merlot. The owner of Brookfield’s was very funny and delightful, she was rushed off her feet, but still managed to make it very enjoyable. As it was a bank holiday we didn’t get to do the gin tasting, so missed out on that sadly.

Reasonable tour. Tere was very good. Couple of teething problems with pick up times. Did 3 wineries and one distillery. Good varieties of wines to taste and the wineries were very pleasant to visit. Didn’t feel it was long enough at each place and would have liked an earlier start an an additional winery.
