1. Gouda: Sint-Janskerk Church & Museum Gouda Admission Tickets
The venues of this spectacular double exhibition are Museum Gouda and its neighbour, the Church of Saint John, in the monumental city centre of Gouda. This is not only the longest church in the Netherlands, but from April 2022 also the most talked about. Because inside, you say a temporary goodbye to the world as you know it. After leaving the 21st century, you end up in the hustle and bustle of the Church of Saint John around 1570. A feast for all your senses. You come face to face with the wonderful altarpieces that used to be standing there. You also see mystical projections and light that plays tag with the invisible. Above you, the colours of the stained glass flame brightly – almost eighteen hundred square metres in total, a significant part of all sixteenth-century glass in the Netherlands. Your ears hear lost sounds, heavenly music, and the voices of storytellers. They show you the way in the sixteenth century. Your nose discovers incense and the smell of mercy. And your sense of touch? It makes you tingle, because time is tangible here.
