Madrid: Skip-the-Line Reina Sofía Museum Entrance Ticket

1. Madrid: Skip-the-Line Reina Sofía Museum Entrance Ticket

The museum represents an intersection of spaces, objects and times: a place where narratives are woven together and stories told, rendering every intersection meaningful as it leads off in one direction or another, turning it into an intense experience of discovery and knowledge. This is why everything that is exhibited, in all its strangeness, all its questions, has to actually touch the visitor’s everyday reality, bringing about a genuine learning experience. The Museo Reina Sofia’s presentation of its collection posits a multi-narrative journey, which adopts a definite standpoint and not only keeps the mystery inherent in art alive, but also strengthens resistance towards the single, fixed reading. Traditional genres coexist side by side with photography, film, sound and dance. With your full-day ticket, you will have access to more than 21,000 works currently on display in the main building.

As a tourist who regularly visits Spain, I'd not been back to the Reina Sofia in several years. A Spanish friend who visited me in Madrid had never been (and never seen Guernica) , so it was a great time to re-visit. The contextualization of this masterpiece is incredibly important for those of us with limited knowledge of the Civil War. He was moved to experience this piece of his cultural heritage. The museum was well set up for social distancing, hand sanitizing, etc ... several galleries are closed to reduce volume in the building ... we also saw the Charlotte Johannesson retrospective and it was intriguing to see the works of this lesser known artist

It was great not having to cue for Reina Sofia. We went straight through the door, they scanned our tickets and we were in. Reina Sofia itself is a great museum and the way they exhibit new and old pieces together was very inspiring.

Our guide was great. The collection at the museum is exactly what we wanted to see. Picasso, Dali, Miro, Man Ray, etc.

Unguided so didn’t have to wait for anyone to not show up. Easy in and enjoyed seeing Guernica.

Easy online purchase of tickets so we did not have to wait in line.
