Full description
Get picked up from your hotel and head to the Shatti Al-Qurum hotel where the tour begins. Your driver will show you how to use the audio guide system to benefit the GPS enabled commentary (available in five languages) that follows the tour. Travel towards to Nizwa, Oman’s cultural capital and home to some of its most significant structures. Along the way, stop at a charming ancestral village called Birka Al Mawz, which sits at the base of Jebel Akhdar (Green Mountain). In Nizwa, admire the central fort and its giant cannon tower; walk through the traditional souq (market); and, of course, enjoy a local restaurant for lunch. After lunch, visit the unique Jabreen Castle, built in the 17th century. It has magnificent plasterwork, carved doors, and painted wooden beams. You'll also see Jebel Shams—one of the most famous mountains in Oman—and one of the oldest towns in the region, Oman Bahla, before heading back to your hotel.

Scheduled destinations are all covered. The guide was nice and drove the bus safely. The recorded guide gave enough regular knowledge and also covered trivia which was very interesting to me. One thing I was not happy about was too short to stay at one stop, where there is no solution about. So if trying everything is your priority, this is the best choice. If you spend more time at each location, you should spare two days and go on your own.

A very interesting day, with visits to Nozra story and Jabreem castle, plus several photo stops and lunch at a traditional Oman restaurant. Only problem was that the hour picking up clients from various hotels meant that time at the fort and castle was cut short Very good audio guide via headphones gave lots of fascinating info about Oman history, development and customs.

A very enjoyable tour with a charming tour guide driver. Everything went very well and the pace of the tour was good. There was quite a lot of walking but by the end of the day, we were only slightly tired but satisfied with what we had seen and the information we were given. We particularly enjoyed the company of the guide, driver, we had long and involved conversations with him and learned a lot.
