Full description
The Residenz in the heart of Munich was the city palace, once the seat of the Dukes, Princes, and Kings of Bavaria. The extensive complex is the largest city palace in Germany and contains some of the most lavish interiors in Europe. With its art collections and treasury, it is without a doubt the most important cultural site in all of Bavaria. A particular highlight awaits you every Saturday and Thursday in the Munich Residenz. The Residenz Soloists, together with members of the Munich Philharmonic, give a concert in the Hofkapelle where Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart himself once played. The concert program is changed weekly and offers masterpieces of the Baroque and Classical periods by Bach, Vivaldi, Handel, Haydn, and works produced by Mozart as a guest composer at the Bavarian court.

A must do in Munich. You are only getting a ticket, so don’t expect to have someone tshow you where to go. And the “meeting spot” was actually not that obvious as there were 2 Lions Gate. It’s a small office in the middle of the complex. Get there early for the best seats. I arrived a little before 6 pm and there were already patrons seated.

it's inside the palace chapel which is not tiny but if you like to be up front go exchange your voucher at the beginning of check in. The seating is uncomfortable but they did have nicer individual chairs at the back, but they could be reserved for the elderly, not sure. The three musicians were young and very talented. So glad we went

One hour concert goes quickly. The musicians were excellent and it was wonderful to listen to the program in such glorious surrounds of the Residenz Chapel. Note that there is no guide to meet you, just walk through the Lions Gate to the ticket office at tue entrance to the chapel where your tickets are waiting. Afterwards we went 20m to the Pfalzer Residenz Weistube, a wine bar in the courtyard of the Residenz, and had the famous pflammekuvhen. Recommend! Perfect evening.
