Full description

In the seclusion of the mountains, King Ludwig II of Bavaria built 2 of his dream-castles: Neuschwanstein and Linderhof. This trip from Munich in a luxury air-conditioned tour-bus will allow you to visit these two important examples of western architecture. Neuschwanstein Castle, in its stunning position in the foothills of the Alps, is also one of the most impressive sights in Germany. Here you will have around 4 hours to explore comfortably every fascinating detail (ticket not included). Linderhof is the only castle that Ludwig the II managed to complete. Around noon you will take a rest at Hohenschwangau Castle, Ludwig's childhood home, for lunch (not included). In addition, if time permits, you will stop for a short time in Oberammergau, for the opportunity to photograph this picturesque little town and its environs, and to do a little shopping.

The bus is very nice and has usb ports. Something nice to note is that you will not be able to pay for the entrance tickets with cash once you are on the bus you may only pay by card. I opted out of both inner castle tours and still had plenty of time to explore the grounds at a more comfortable pace and got to see more of the outside and town. We didn't stop in oberammergau due to big group but drive through it and the guide told us brief stories. The only downfall was maybe a lack of information on the bus about the areas and the king which would be one reason to pay the price to go in the castles. FYI --you WILL NOT be able to take pictures inside the castles (a big turn off for me :/ )

it was a double decker bus that was almost full, even during COVID-19. Also, because of covid, we did not stop in the town as advertised. I would preferred that they quoted a price that included entrance to the two castles so we didn't need to bother with that on the bus. The guide was very nice and informative.

We enjoyed the Linderhof and Neuschwanstein day tour very much. Our tour guide, Elizabeth, was knowledgeable, courteous, careful and very helpful. I complicated the check in as I lost track of my cancelation and rebooking documentation when the number in our group changed. It was rectified quickly to my immense relief thanks to Grey Line records.
