Full description

Meet your guide and hop aboard a motorcoach as you set off to Gibraltar. Along the way, relax and enjoy the scenery as the coach makes stops to pick up additional guests.

During your journey to Gibraltar, listen to your guide as they detail the program for the day, point out interesting sites, and explain the main customs limits for products purchased on the peninsula. Also, learn a bit about the overseas British territory and its connection to Greek mythology.  Upon crossing the border notice how the city lies at the foot of a huge limestone rock where you can have fabulous views over the bay and sometimes the northern coast of Africa if the weather permits it.

Arrive in Gibraltar and after the coach is parked you will have five hours to spend as free time and participate in your guided tour.  Connect with your guide to join a sightseeing tour that includes stops at Europa Point, entrance to Saint Michael’s Cave, and the possibility to have a close look at the famous Barbary apes, the only wild primates in liberty in Europe.

The tour takes approximately 1.5-hours, after which you will have free time for lunch, shopping, and exploring the city at your own leisure. Then, meet your guide at your designated meeting time and return to your departure point.

A good full day tour - the only downside is the early start (6.30 am) from Malaga and you go through many other places to pick up passengers before heading on the road to Gibraltar. I don't think there is any way around this as it would be impractical and too expensive to run smaller buses from each town - thus having less pickups. However, the trip is worth it - there is some stunning scenery along the route and the view of three continents as you enter Gibraltar is beautiful - even better on a clear day when you can see Africa very clearly.

The trip is nice, it provides transportation and information as well as the entrance ticket to the caves. At first I thought I could do it in 1 day on my own but I don’t think so looking at public transport logistics & how you should arrive earlier to avoid the roads near the land border being closed in Gibraltar due to airplanes landing or taking off. My advice though is that once you have your free time after the rock tour, go to the cathedral, the national museum and most importantly the cable car! You will still have time to do them (if you skip sitting for lunch and grab something to eat at the bus later)

If you start from Malaga they pick up at 7:15 then there were 4 stops after (1 couple decided to go to a another pick up point to lessen the bus adding a bother pick up stop). The guide spoke in 2 language but she spoke for 2-3 min straight in 1 language and by the time whatever she was commenting at already passed by. The tour in Gibraltar was interesting. The bus driver who also tells you about the place is a retired serviceman so he knows the military info and history. Lasted for 1 hour and 30 min. Giving you at least 2 more hours or so to be on your own. I toke the cable all the way up , went to the skywalk and came back via cable. Had enough time to eat and look around. Then takes about 2 hours to arrive back in Malaga. Love the air condition on the bus. It was hot at that time , the air was just great. Going through the border is a breeze.
