Full description

Venice is often referred to as the world’s most romantic city. On this full-day trip from Milan, you’ll have a chance to experience why this is so. Enjoy a guided tour of this enchanting city and a boat ride on the lagoon. Due to its unique location on the shores of the Adriatic Sea, Venice has been an important commercial city for centuries.

Governed by the doges, the historic rulers of Venice, it became one of the wealthiest republics in Europe, and its buildings were constructed representing many different architectural styles. The splendor of its appearance earned Venice the name La Serenissima, meaning the most serene of all the republics. Venice comprises over a hundred small islands that are scattered across a large lagoon. The main island was built around majestic St. Mark's Square.

First, you’ll go on a boat trip on the lagoon to see the various islands, and then you’ll take a 2-hour guided walking tour to visit the most important sights of the city, such as St. Mark's Square and the Doge's Palace. After lunch, you’ll have some free time to explore the city by yourself. Visit museums or stop to buy some souvenirs or gifts before your return trip to Milan.

Nice bus and we stopped at a great place on the way there with time for breakfast. On the way back we made one short stop and then had to stop again bc the bathroom on the bus was locked and no one had a key. This was a four hour trip because the traffic coming back into Milan was overwhelming. On other buses there have been usb ports to charge cell phones, none on this large bus.

The journey from Milan was quite a distance but overall it’s worth the time to see the city of Venice & experienced the gondola ride (additional expense). Beautiful and romantic city. Very informative & knowledgeable tour guide & learnt lots of historical backgound of Venice too. Due to end of summer, the city is still buzzling with people and heat. Would recommend to visit in colder months to enjoy more of Venice beauty.

Excellent organisation and time-management. Our luxury coach left just after 7am, we stopped for breakfast around 9am and got to Venice just after 11am. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and thoughtful and ensured we had a comfortable and enjoyable journey. We visited a glass factory and then were left to explore the city in our free time and grab some lunch. We had to meet up with our group at 3.45pm, which gave us about 3 hours! Time went really quick but we were given the option to stay and make our way back to Milan on our own. I wish we had a little more time to explore but it was definitely worth the experience!
