Full description
Milan’s Duomo, one of the city’s most iconic buildings, was built over 600 years ago, and is one of the 4 largest cathedrals in Europe. On a 1-hour guided tour you’ll learn about the artistic and architectural features of the cathedral, and its connection with the history of the city. Admire the Gothic elements of its design and its numerous paintings and statues. From your guide you’ll hear the legends associated with the Duomo and also see its pagan elements, such as zodiac symbols. Head downstairs to the basement, where you’ll visit the crypt under the altar, the site of the centuries-old tomb of the Archbishop Carlo Borromeo. Choose the extended tour option (2.5 hours) and enjoy a guided visit to the Rooftop, where you’ll have a chance to take in panoramic views of Milan.

A really interesting tour of this amazing building. Our guide Simon was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable and led us to the most interesting items in the cathedral. A definite "must do" if you are in Milan. We didn't visit the roof but got a good view from the Torre Branca in Park Sempione.

The ticket bought indicated guided tour of duomo with optional tour of the terrace. The ticket did NOT state the tour of the terrace was extra, however. As they did not have the proper amount of tickets, the tour guide graciously covered the tickets for my wife and I: doing the right thing. Overall a great experience with an equally great guide! The ticket description should be amended if the terrace is to cost extra.
