Full description
Discover how to cook a 4-course Italian meal at a half-day morning cooking class, held in a private home in the center of Milan. The class is led by an experienced teacher and sommelier in English. Work in small groups of between 2 to 6 people for a more intimate adventure. Start with morning tea or coffee and a chat about the daily menu, depending on the season. You will then start by preparing your antipasti (bruschetta, focaccia, or puff pastry), before making homemade pasta, risotto, gnocchi, or minestrone for the first course. Your second course will be a meat or fish dish, or a vegetable dish for vegetarians. This is followed by a dessert of tiramisu, panna cotta, fruit or chocolate cake, or strawberries with homemade ice cream. Vegetarian, gluten free, and low-calorie menus are available on request. All ingredients are 100 percent Italian and freshly supplied from the local market, but typically available wherever you live. The aim is to teach you how to prepare a meal that you can repeat at home. Once everything is ready, sit around the table of a typical Italian dining room and eat what you have prepared, served with an Italian wine chosen by the sommelier, who will explain why it makes a good pairing. Finish in typical Italian style with an espresso, before collecting your souvenir cooking diploma.

I was unsure what to expect as this is the first cooking course I have attended and was gifted to me by my family. I am pleased to say that this particular course exceeded all my expectations and may be on of the highlights of my 6 month stay in Milan. The instructor was extremely welcoming into her home, full of interesting facts on food and useful cooking tips I am not sure I would have learned otherwise. As a group we managed to cook 4 exquisite dishes comfortably within the allocated time with each person helping. This is maybe what I was most impressed with as the organisation and execution made the whole experience effortless and enjoyable. The venue itself is with the hostesses home, which was perfectly inviting for the group of 7 we were in. I couldn’t recommend this course more highly to couples or small groups and the dishes we made were truly authentic to the local regions of Northern Italy.

Awesome, Awesome, Awesome!!

This is the best cooking class I have taken so far. I try to do a cooking class whenever I travel for vacation. Clara is wonderful, her home is very inviting, she is organized and prepared for the lesson. Her instructions were clear and the recipe book provided makes it is easy to duplicate the delicious recipes we cooked.

Clara was just superb!

Clara greeted me personally when I arrived, was excellent in knowledge & handling of foods & in her teaching techniques in helping us to prepare the foods for our meal. She was simply superb! Patiently answered all of our questions &-concerns about food-specifically & in general & even took.time to.assist us in taking memorable photos (lots of them throughout) of this experience. She's very gracious in dealing w/students, and her home is spotless, just lovely, & organized magnificently for teaching these classes. I recommend her without any reservations (have already been doing so since taking this class). Looking forward to taking another class w/her!! Sarah Browner
