Full description

Make the most of your next trip to Mexico City with a trio of Mexico’s must-see historical monuments. Mexican Root is a celebration of the civilizations and cultures that have made Mexico what it is today. Visit the legendary Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Tlatelolco and the Pyramids of Teotihuacan on this full-day excursion from Mexico City.

Your first stop will be in Tlatelolco, Mexico City’s most significant archaeological site. Alongside temples dedicated to Mexican deities, learn the more macabre side of their history, including human sacrifices, mass graves, and the so-called Lovers of Tlatelolco

Continue to the Guadalupe Shrine, located in the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe. In this 18th-century shrine, you’ll see a cloak with the image of Guadalupe as you learn about her significance to the culture and people of modern Mexico. Spot where Our Lady of Guadalupe is said to have appeared to an indigenous Mexican. Then have time to lunch and recharge energies.

Head to one of the most jaw-dropping sites in Mexico, the great Teotihuacan Pyramids to explore the mystical site with the guide. See the Pyramid of the Sun, with its more than 200 feet tall, the largest in Mesoamerica. Along with a trip along the Avenue of the Dead learn about the origins of this religious city and see the Temples of Quetzalpapalotl, the Temple of the Feathered Shells, and the Pyramid of the Moon

Enjoy a tour full of adventure, history, and some of the most breathtaking views of Mexico.

We dithered about going to Teotihuacan on our own but I’m so glad we booked this trip! We loved visiting Tlatelolco first and there were amazing views of the city from Guadalupe Shrine. Lily was a fantastic tour guide, engaging and friendly. She gave us lots of information but also allowed for a good amount of free time too. The rest of the team were also great. It is a long day trip but great to fit a few different locations in without feeling too rushed at each place. Make sure you take some snacks as we ended up having lunch at about 4pm! Thanks for a great tour! We highly recommend!

My mom and I liked it a lot, expert guides on the subject I highly recommend, they gave us the opportunity to store the suitcase on the bus since it was our last day and from there we would go to the airport, just one observation because they were cigars foreigners and only us Mexicans assigned us different guides so everyone was happy in the group and we alone apart, we felt discriminated against in our own country hahaha since it was clear that the main guide was the one who brought the gringos, I suggest they do not separate the groups since if the distinction was felt, suddenly everyone knew each other because of the coexistence and we alone, having been separated, lived differently, but the rest was beautiful to see the pyramids and the treatment except for what was mentioned was excellent, thank you.

Jaime our tour guide was amazing. I can't recommend him highly enough. He is a natural teacher. He kept the tour together in two languages, answering questions in both. He told historical facts in great detail and had both groups spellbound- waiting for more. He gave us plenty of time to be on our own and still kept us on schedule. All the people on the tour were from around the world and were so kind and friendly. I had never been on a tour before and I would gladly do another after this very positive experience.
