Full description
Your tour begins in the Anthropology Museum, admire some of the pieces amongst the vast collection of pre-hispanic art inside of the museum. Your guide will explain pieces like the Sun Stone, also called the Aztec calendar; the Coatlicue, and several other pieces that reflected the thought, lifestyle and religion of the different civilizations developed inside the ancient Mexico. Later, head to the Historic Center of the city, where the Aztec empire was once seated. Your guide will give you a brief explanation on the Great Tenochtitlan, and the traces that remain as evidence of its existence. Walk through some of the busiest streets of the Historic Center and the outside of some of its emblematic buildings, such as the Metropolitan Cathedral, National Palace and the Palace of Fine Arts. Perfect tour for an introduction to Mexico

We started the tour in the Museum of Anthtropology and stayed there more than 3 hours. A wonderfull start. The museum is a must-see because of the most comprehensive presentation of the pre-spanish aera. After a short lunch break our guide Edgar took us on a walking tour around the city center of Mexico City. This completed this first introduction to the city. It was really good being on this tour with 8 people only. No doubt Edgar is very knowledgeable but he MUST improve his English! In many cases it was nearly impossible to spot what he wanted to put across to us. Members from the group helped me which was really good. In the end I was a bit disappointed that the pick-up from my hotel did not work out. I must admit my hotel was not in Mexico City itself. But that this would be prohibitve to the pick-up was not clearly stated in the terms of the tour. A big plus was the phone help-line of Get-your-guide. Easy access, reliable and competent. Go for this tour!

Good tour but lot of walking !!!

The tour was pretty good and informative. Our guide Alejandro was very knowledgeable and took to time to give us the history & context of each of the attractions. The pick-up was on time and so was the drop off. The only negative I can think of was that we were made to walk a lot. While we expect to walk a bit on such tours but that day the bus "broke down" and we really had to walk a lot.
