Full description
The first stop on your tour will be to the caves of Cacahuamilpa. You will enter through the huge rock door to contemplate the majestic scenery formed by the erosion of the water and the movements of the earth. You will then walk through the corridors and enjoy the sensation of penetrating the mountain to discover figures of animals, faces, buildings, and the customs of the Chontal tribes to honor their gods of the underworld. You will then go to the magical town of Taxco to eat at the Hotel Monte Taxco. After lunch, you can take the cable car (not included). Following this, you will take a walk through the city and visit the oldest mining center on the continent, which still stores silver mines that date back to the Colonial Era. Next, you will visit the ex-convent of San Bernardino and the Temple of Santa Prisca, which is a clear example of the fact that the town still retains its colonial style. The church there, which was built in approximately the 18th century, is of Novo-Hispanic Baroque style. You will then have free time to visit Humboldt House, where the famous German expeditionary stayed, and which is currently home to the Museo del Arte Virreinal. Following this, you will visit the different workshops, goldsmiths, and museums of this city (which is also called the City of Silver). At the conclusion of your educational and cultural day out, you will return to Mexico City at approximately 6:00PM.

Awesome tour. We went on a day trip to the Cacahuamilpa caves and Taxco . Our guide, Javier picked us up on time . He was courteous , attentive and responsive. Javier translated what the official guide at the caves was saying in Spanish- so we were able to enjoy the tour of the caves and appreciate its awesome beauty even more. Next we went to Taxco. Had a truly authentic Mexican meal at the La Noche Estrellada . After lunch, we visited one of the oldest churches. Renovation work was going on but it was still beautiful to see. In Taxco, a local guide was there to explainh about the buildings and statues we saw downtown and around the central plaza. Had enough time to buy souvenirs and browse the silver jewellery stores . The guides on the tour were happy to share their knowledge of local history and culture an answer any questions we had . Would definitely recommend this tour with Travis Adventures.

Private tour led by Francisco, owner of the company. First you arrive at the Cacahuamilpa Grottoes where the group tour is made with guides from the site. For more than two kilometers you can see the rock formations and at the end you have to return the same distance. Later we went to eat at the Montetaxco Hotel-Spa where you have an impressive view of the entire city of Taxco, and from there we went down on the cable car. Then we arrive at the center where the Plaza Borda and the Santa Prisca Church are. Unfortunately the local boy who was supposed to show us around was in a hurry and left us stranded after taking us to an uninteresting silver flea market and a viewpoint from where you can see the Christ of Taxco. Going down behind Santa Prisca there is a very large handicraft store known as Casa de la Mascaras that has a unique variety. Finally wandering around we went by the car and passed by the very beautiful Chapel of the Holy Trinity.

I loved the Tour since it is private, the treatment of the person who took us was excellent, they do not reach the words to describe the beauty of the tour since they wait for you at the hotel, the arrival at the caves and the passage through Taxco, everything was beautiful!
