The whole tour is very well planned. There were lots of stops on the way, so even the way back (11 hrs in the bus) was tolerable. The space between seats is very small though, so you can´t totally relax in the bus. Our guide Mustafa was nice, patient and helpful, as well as the guides at the places where we stopped for a sightseeing. Air-conditioning worked well (unlike in the buses of some other Sahara tour organisers). The hotel was nice and comfy, so were the tents at Merzouga. It was really nice to get a private tent just for the two of us. Riding a camel is shaky and a bit painful, partly because I am quite heavy, but the "camel guy" helped me a lot. Sahara was MAGICAL, especially sunset & sunrise, as well as looking at the sky over Sahara at night: millions of shining stars. There´s one thing that should have been mentioned to us in advance: you can´t take even a small suitcase to Sahara. You have to pack things in a separate back bag, so many of us had to re-pack in Merzouga.
We enjoyed at maxim every moment of this beautiful trip. We started from Marrakech our trip with guide Hicham and another 8 travellers. The van is very confortable - with clima-, our guide Hicham is a good driver, we feel in safe during at the trip. Furthermore, he is a very cool personality. He likes what he is doing. We receive a lot of information about Marocco, about berber's lifestyle, traditions. He always stopped, when we want to buy something, to go on toilet, or to make pictures. A lot of panoráma on this trip, to make huge photos, show by hím. He reccomended us the restaurants to eat. Morocco is an interesting and beautiful country. We are feeling wondered in the Sáhara, at Merzouga dunes. Camel ride is the most fine thing, at sunset and át sunrise too. The berber camp is something undescriptionable. Confort of 5 stars in a tent, good food, and berber show. I think he is a famous berber singer, because he plays on diferents instruments here... Thanks for U !
We were very lucky because there were no onther ppl in the tour (in the info pack it said up to 17 ppl). It was super nice to have flexibility and ability to change the plan in the moment. Our tour guide Mohamed Ben Haddou was friendly and helpful. Even though he did not speak good English, he could answer some questions we had. As for the price, be ready to pay 120-100 MAD per lunch (per pax). Also, have some money ready for tips. For one guide (in Ait benhaddou) we had to pay 30 MAD/pax. For the fact, it was not really worth it as you can see everything yourself. The next day we were taken to the local village with the garden. In the garden our guide was nice and actually could speak some English. However, the worst part is when he took us to the carpet place. Don't go there! Just say that you din't want to go there. Due to the flexibility, we arrived to the desert early. At 3:30p.m. By 4p.m. We were on the camels, hence, we could spend more time in the desert.
Amazing experience, we rode the camels through the desert, we enjoyed the sunset and the sand boarding. They 2 boys guiding us (Mohammed and Mostafa) were really kind and well prepared. When arriving at the tends we had a lovely dinner with really good staff serving us. The best part was after dinner where we sat around a fire and we told stories and jokes with the all the guys working at the tends, they've been playing music too. We are really grateful for the experience they gave us. We're sorry if we don't remember all their names but we will definitely remember them as good and friendly people.
What a wonderful trip for an amazing price. This tour felt like a private tour, it was just the right sized group for it to be social but not overcrowded. The tour matched the description and exceeded our expectations. There is no getting away from it being a long journey, but the frequent stops make it manageable and it is totally worth it to see the Sahara! The stars are amazing!!!!! The accommodation was high quality with private tents and thick blankets - ideal for the chilly nights.
