Full description
Experience the beauty of the Ourika Valley up-close on this full-day scenic tour from Marrakesh, and escape the hustle and bustle of the city for the day. The Ourika Valley is the closest day trip from Marrakesh, but it’s not just its convenience that makes it special. Drive towards the Atlas Mountains, taking in the beautiful landscape of green meadows and authentic 16th and 17th-century Berber villages. If you take your tour on a Monday, you can even stop at a roadside souk. See fruit orchards, vegetable terraces, and villages clinging to the side of hills. Marvel at the labor undertaken by the Berbers who hoisted materials to construct small houses up mountain sides, and work the terraces in a hostile environment. Continue along the valley of palm trees, following the Ourika River. Fruit trees, tiny hamlets, riverside restaurants, and the summer homes of the wealthy will keep you occupied. Go to Setti Fatma to feel the refreshing waters. Feel the spray on your face as you cool down from the African heat, along with the locals of Marrakech who have made it their favorite weekend retreat.

The trip to Ourika was fun. Both the guide, Mohammed and the driver Omar were excellent in their roles. The hike to the falls was nice and can be done easily, Mohammed was extremely helpful even with passersby, making sure that no one gets hurt navigating the rocky parts of the hike. The view of the valley from the hilltops is just beautiful.

5 STARS. This was a fantastic must visit trip. The setting is beautiful and you are given every chance to take it in. From the prompt and readily communicated pickup, right through the excursion, I could not fault it. our driver was brilliant. Stopped on the way at points that we might be interested in taking photos, and then joined us half way round on our tour of the falls and engaged with us. Our tour guide at the falls Muhammed was brilliant. Very informative and well organised. Constantly checked in with the group and gave us all an informed choice on a slightly more difficult part of the trek, giving those who didn't want to do the final scramble to relax on an outdoor dining terrace. While at the peak of the trek by the Fatima cascade, at no point did we feel pressured or rushed. We were given the time that we wanted to spent at the falls and take in the views (going into the water is a MUST). Then we headed back to the main road where we enjoyed a scenic meal on the Riverside.

Omar, our driver, was probably the friendliest and most easy going moroccan we met in Marrakech, that was not just nice to get us to tip him. He made the ride fun and easy and made sure we were all doing fine. The climb was short and not that difficult, and our guide made sure to pay attention to each one of our steps making sure we were safe. Although he was really nice and lived in the county nearby he spoke only french and very poor english, being english the language of our preference. Otherwise, the landscape was beautiful and although it was very touristic it was a nice escape from hectic Marrakech.
