This leather workshop was one of my favorite memories of my week spent in Marrakech! It was very organized and highly interactive. I did not realize the many steps that are involved in crafting a pair of slippers and it gave me a new appreciation for the craft and those that make them. While there were many steps involved in making the slippers, the instructions for each step were clearly communicated and easy to follow. For someone that did not have any experience in this craft, my slippers turned out great. I highly recommend this activity to anyone who is looking for a unique and authentic experience during their time in Marrakech!

This workshop was great fun, highly interactive and well organised. A ‘translator’ met us at a central place, and took us to the venue - that was appreciated, because I doubt we would have found it otherwise!! The instructor was well organised, had templates and material ready and we felt well catered and prepared for. The amount of work that goes into a slipper was a real eye-opener, and certainly gave us a new appreciation of the instructor’s work. Our translator was hardly necessary as our instructor had a good grasp of English, but we enjoyed very much her input into the conversation. Overall, this was a top experience that I would highly recommend. We left very proud of our new slippers!!!

One of our best memories of Marrakech! We did not suspect that there were so many stages in the making of slippers. It was great to be able to create our own slippers ourselves (choice of color, shape, design of the model, cutting, collage, etc.). The craftsman and the translator are by our side to help us if necessary. The children (10 and 8 years old) loved it and were very successful. We will do it again in another artisanal domain!
