Full description

Day 1: Marrakech — Ouarzazate — Zagora

Begin with early-morning pickup from Marrakech. First, take the road to Zagora city via Ouarzazate. Your first stop is the Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, where you will be able to visit impressive UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The second stop is in the Draa Valley, well-known for its amazing ksour and kasbah.  Zagora is six hours away from Marrakech. The trip is long, but you will have the opportunity to discover the beautiful landscapes of Morocco along the way. At the end of the day, reach Zagora and enjoy the sunset on a one-hour camel ride. To finish, enjoy an excellent dinner at a campsite in the Zagora dunes.

Day 2: Zagora — Marrakech

In the early morning, enjoy a typical Berber breakfast in Zagora. Then watch the sunrise from a camel ride in the dunes before taking the road back to Marrakech through the High Atlas Mountains.

Nice trip, nice camel ride and desert. But they kept on bringing us to places that were tourist traps, way too expensive, and the guide lied to us and said that some products were absolutely necessary to go to the desert and it was not true, and the driver drover very dangerously and even got a speeding ticket.

Great experience if u are willing to spend long hours in a mini ban through very bumpy and under development roads. As the other reviews said the driver makes few stops in crappy road restaurants for quick stops or meals, which I didn't care as I didn't took this trip for fancy meals. Excursions are interesting and of course u have to tip everybody. Best experience and the main reason is to arrive to the entrance to the desert. Camel ride was fun both ways , best is the sunset and sunrise from the Dunes. Berber Camp was fun too, with a nice dinner and music, seeing the clear sky by night was quite special too. Recommended if u want to sleep at the dessert and ride camels. Beware of the 8 -9 hours in the car each way.

Everything went very well despite the journey being quite long (8 hours to go and 8 hours to return). On the outward journey it passes rather quickly because there are quite a few stops and the landscapes are magnificent, while the return passes less quickly. We arrive at the bivouac camp on camels and we enjoy the sunset from the top of the dunes. It's incredible. Certainly the camp is not in the middle of the desert and close enough to a road, however, we forget it very quickly with this idyllic setting.
