Full description
Fall in love with the varied and unique beauty of Morocco’s valleys, mountains, countryside, and desert on this full-day guided excursion from Marrakech. After pickup at around 9:00 AM, head to the Atlas Mountains, passing through a small village where you can visit both an argan oil co-operative and a traditional Berber souk (market).   Arrive in Imlil and take a trek by foot or by camel to Armed, the highest and largest village in Imlil Valley. Your journey will take you past waterfalls and the hamlets of Ait Mizan, Targa, and Imoula. Stop off in Tamatert to take in views of ancient irrigated fields of barley, corn, and vegetables, surrounded by cherry and walnut trees. Your guide will point out interesting sites and tell you about Berber culture and heritage along the way.   Come back down through the village of Ait Souka, where you’ll meet a Berber family and enjoy a traditional Moroccan meal as a guest in their home. Head next to Kik Plateau, at 1,800 meters altitude, offering spectacular 360-degree views, and in spring, a marvelous spread of alpine flowers.   Arrive at the edge of Lalla Takerkoust Lake, whose dam supplies Marrakesh with all its energy. Take a tea break and admire the views out over the lake, or, if you’d prefer an adrenaline rush, quad biking or jet skiing can be arranged locally.   Finally, drive to Agafay Desert and enjoy the tranquility of the countryside. Pass through stone desert, barren light brown plateaus, Bedouin villages, oases, and high hills with panoramic views to High Atlas. If the timing is right, enjoy views of the sunset from up high before returning to Marrakech.

I found the website GetYourguide by chance as I was looking for a reliable company or tours. With this Pandemic, you cant see any recent reviews to any yours posted online so its hard to somehow trust. But I was so Happy and Very Satisified with this tour. Our driver Karim is very professional and he speaks english very well. He was giving info about places we pass by. The breakfast and tea were also very good. Our guide for hiking Abdul is commendable too. He was so patient and very accommodating. He knows well what to share and give you the best experience of this side in Morrocco. He introduced Berber, the village and some surprisingly beautiful sceneries hidden in the valley. And ofcourse, the Free Lunch is superb. The cook Moser was excellent. They gave some free cherries too. Ebrahim was so nice to welcome us and give the perfect spot and view for lunch. Overall, maybe you a solo or group, choose this tour and you will have one of your best time in Morocco.

We really like this excursion, With sublime panoramas and landscapes. At the beginning of January, snow in the mountains, a lunch with the locals, then photos in the Agafay desert of real postcards. We warmly thank our driver who has shown great listening, you can ask him to stop where you want for pictures. Thanks to you Lahcen Asmi. And another big thank you to our mountain guide Rachid Talaoul who knows the region like the back of his hand and who will be able to tell you anecdotes about this fabulous region, with perfect French. Really great I recommend.

I can recommend this day trip, it was a great experience. The company was flexible enough to change my ticket to Tuesday when I realised I won't be able to make Monday. Hassan the driver is a great guy, really did everything for four of us to have a nice experience from picking us up to safe driving and lots of local information which you wouldn't necessarily be able to google. In the valley in the Atlas mountains we joined another group of 5 people for a walk and lunch. Our tour guide was Ahmed, a local guy. I think this was my favourite part of the day, as he told us a lot of interesting stories and facts and invited us to his own home for a tea. (Thank you Ahmed!)
