Full description
Fall in love with the varied and unique beauty of Morocco’s valleys, mountains, countryside, and desert on this full-day guided excursion from Marrakech. After pickup at around 9:00 AM, head to the Atlas Mountains, passing through a small village where you can visit both an argan oil co-operative and a traditional Berber souk (market).   Arrive in Imlil and take a trek by foot or by camel to Armed, the highest and largest village in Imlil Valley. Your journey will take you past waterfalls and the hamlets of Ait Mizan, Targa, and Imoula. Stop off in Tamatert to take in views of ancient irrigated fields of barley, corn, and vegetables, surrounded by cherry and walnut trees. Your guide will point out interesting sites and tell you about Berber culture and heritage along the way.   Come back down through the village of Ait Souka, where you’ll meet a Berber family and enjoy a traditional Moroccan meal as a guest in their home. Head next to Kik Plateau, at 1,800 meters altitude, offering spectacular 360-degree views, and in spring, a marvelous spread of alpine flowers.   Arrive at the edge of Lalla Takerkoust Lake, whose dam supplies Marrakesh with all its energy. Take a tea break and admire the views out over the lake, or, if you’d prefer an adrenaline rush, quad biking or jet skiing can be arranged locally.   Finally, drive to Agafay Desert and enjoy the tranquility of the countryside. Pass through stone desert, barren light brown plateaus, Bedouin villages, oases, and high hills with panoramic views to High Atlas. If the timing is right, enjoy views of the sunset from up high before returning to Marrakech.

Excursion incroyable!

A simply unforgettable experience. For a day, we chose to escape the hustle and bustle of Marrakech for an excursion into the Moroccan countryside. And what a surprise to have come across Omar, our guide for the day, and Ibrahim, the mountain guide. Both are very warm, kind, very open to discussion and are happy to share a piece of their culture and history with us. As for the day, we were picked up from our hotel by Omar, who took us by car to the Imlil valley. Along the way, several breaks to take photos, and a longer one to visit a women's cooperative producing argan oil, all accompanied by a Moroccan breakfast. Then, we joined Ibrahim, the mountain guide to discover the Imlil valley. In addition to the place which is sumptuous, the guide shares with great enthusiasm his culture and the functioning of his village.

I found the website GetYourguide by chance as I was looking for a reliable company or tours. With this Pandemic, you cant see any recent reviews to any yours posted online so its hard to somehow trust. But I was so Happy and Very Satisified with this tour. Our driver Karim is very professional and he speaks english very well. He was giving info about places we pass by. The breakfast and tea were also very good. Our guide for hiking Abdul is commendable too. He was so patient and very accommodating. He knows well what to share and give you the best experience of this side in Morrocco. He introduced Berber, the village and some surprisingly beautiful sceneries hidden in the valley. And ofcourse, the Free Lunch is superb. The cook Moser was excellent. They gave some free cherries too. Ebrahim was so nice to welcome us and give the perfect spot and view for lunch. Overall, maybe you a solo or group, choose this tour and you will have one of your best time in Morocco.
