Full description
Retreat to the calm of the Marrakech Palmeraie, and travel like a Berber on a 3-hour tour from Marrakech. Ride along palm-shaded desert trails to verdant oases, and enjoy traditional Moroccan mint tea and honey pancakes. Following a pick-up from your hotel, cross the desert sands to the Marrakech Palmeraie and marvel at a serene grove of palm trees just 20 minutes from the city center. Put on a traditional chech (headscarf) and gandora (robe-like garment) to protect your skin from the sands and beating sun. Then, a camel handler will get you seated comfortably atop your well-behaved camel. Sit back as you ride beneath the rustling palms, traveling from the picturesque Kasbah to the banks of the Oued Tansift wadi that forms lush oases during the rainy season. Pass lime kilns and see the snow-capped peaks of the Atlas Mountains. Meander down desert trails to the rural oases of Oulad Mansour and Oulad Ali. Soak up the peaceful surroundings as your camel plods along and loops back to the Kasbah. Conclude your desert adventure with a hot cup of mint tea and a snack of honey-drenched msemens (crispy stuffed crepes) or baghrirs (soft crepes).

Interesting

Thanks to Matthieu I discovered many new things about the city of Marrakech and the surrounding area, about the protection of palm trees and about the life and characteristics of camels. Also I thank the agency for the availability, I had missed the tour in the morning due to my delay at the meeting point but a simple call to the number available was enough to participate in the afternoon tour. Great!!! I advise

Informative and a great experience.

Matthieu brought his camels closer to us, that you got a reference to "his" animal. Love and happy animals that are doing well. The ride was a very special experience, with lots of interesting information about camels and Marrakech. Absolute top grade and a "must" every time you visit Marrakech !!

Recommended experience

Everything as scheduled. The driver was found in the agreed place at the agreed time. The guide made us familiar with the camels and gave us an excursus on the history of the Palmerai oasis. Upon returning from the tour we were offered mint tea with a fried honey pizza. Out of the program decidedly appreciated.
