    Experience Ait Benhaddou and Telouet Kasbahs day trip from Marrakech. Criss-cross the Atlas Mountains and take the road to the Sahara Desert on the old caravan routes. See colorful villages with houses erected from mud. See trading outposts, local art, and UNESCO World Heritage Sites featured in Hollywood blockbusters. Ride over the famous Tizi-n-Tichka, see Berber villages, and watch as the landscape changes drastically, becoming semi-arid and desert-like as the chain of the Atlas mountains acts as barrier against the Mediterranean climate of the north.

    Take a side road to the Telouet Kasbah, which belonged to the Pacha of the Atlas, the Glaoui, and was left to ruin after the departure of the French armies. Marvel at the tiled walls, fluted pillars, painted wooden ceilings, and colored glass windows of the reception rooms.

    Enjoy lunch at Ait Ben Haddou along the newly asphalted road. Once in the village, get a closer look at the Kasbah's turrets, grilled windows, and soft peach coloured adobe walls. Explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Benhaddou, the most famous of all Moroccan kasbahs, due to its appearance in many Hollywood blockbusters.

    This was one of the most important fortress strongholds on the old Salt Road caravan routes, where traders brought slaves, gold, ivory, and salt from sub-Saharan Africa to Marrakech and beyond. Before leaving Ait Benhaddou, take one last glimpse of the village from a distant point offering a panoramic view.

    The day trip was overal good. Our driver from and back to Marrakech was professional. The highlights were 1/ the visit of the Telouet Kasbah: excellent guide, amazing location, the contrast between the inside and outside is unbelievable. It is a pity that it was not advertised properly as there incredible art work from locals available for purchase at low prices compared to Marrakech. And 2/ the Ait Benhaddou Kasbah: our guide, Abdel Majid, made it perfect. He is very knowledgeable and very friendly with a big smile. This was my second time visiting this Kasbah and it is amazing what you can still learn from a local guide. The minus point was the support via whatsapp. Not friendly and no answer in a timely manner. The pickup is 45min before the advertised time. I'm giving 5 stars for the excellent hard-working guides we had throughout the trip.

    We had a amazing trip with Said as our guide and driver! Lots of information about Morocco and sight seeing and photo opportunities during the drive. The visits to Ait Benhaddou and Telouet Kasbah were very nice, but the scenery during the drive trough the mountains was just as wonderful! Would definitely recommend!

    Très bonne expérience ,je recommande à 100% cette visite. Paysages magnifiques tout le long de la route et surtout à l'arrivée à Ait Ben Haddou et Ouarzazate.! Magique...... Merci à Lahcen qui a été super sympathique et très professionnel .IL nous a appris beaucoup de choses sur le Maroc ,son pays qu'il aime tant... ce fut très enrichissant. Nous avons mangé dans un super restaurant pour nous régaler de plats typiques. Il faut certes faire beaucoup de route , (Col du Tichka à traverser), mais cela en vaut vraiment la peine....Nous sommes partis à 8 h du matin et rentrés à 20h. Une très belle journée .Encore merci pour tout Lahcen.... Cécile
