1. Busselton: Meet the Woylies, Nocturnal Animal Tour
Join this very special evening tour to observe a colony of Woylies in their natural environment. A very rare, nocturnal little macropod with personality, woylies are small relatives of kangaroos. This tour is your only opportunity to view these amazing, but critically endangered creatures. The tour begins with accommodation pickups half an hour before sunset, before a short drive to a nearby private conservation sanctuary that has allowed exclusive access for this tour. On arrival at the sanctuary, a short guided bush walk will take you to the animal viewing site. As the first of the woylies appear, you'll learn about some of their wonderful characteristics, and interesting facts about the area. Other Aussie wildlife may be seen during the tour including kangaroos, bandicoots and possums. At the end of your woylie encounter, you'll be returned to your pre-arranged drop-off location. The tour takes place at a conservation sanctuary that has allowed access to their population of free-roaming woylies (brush-tailed bettong). Part of the proceeds from this tour contribute to the valuable work of the conservation sanctuary.
