Margaret River

Jewel Cave is the largest show cave in Western Australia, composed of three massive chambers. Visitors are immediately in awe of the sheer enormity of the first chamber, which is also home to one of the longest straw stalactites found in any tourist cave in Australia. Towering crystal formations, growing for many thousands of years, reach up towards delicate and intricate decorations suspended like vines across the ceiling. Hear stories of the "Tasmanian tiger" fossils found in the cave — these animals perished in the darkness after falling into the cave thousands of years ago. After exiting the cave, you'll have the option to take a self-guided walk through the towering karri forest above, during which you'll pass by the natural entrance to the cave, a small vertical shaft in the forest floor.

Enjoy your visit to Ngilgi Cave with this tour led by an experienced informative guide. The semi-guided tour is approximately one-hour in duration, and begins with an introductory talk from the cave guide while being led down into the first chamber or "The Amphitheatre." Your guide will tell you all about Ngilgi's rich history - from the fascinating Aboriginal Dreamtime story describing the battle between a benevolent spirit named Ngilgi, and an evil spirit named Wolgine. The cave now takes its name from this rich Aboriginal legend. After the tour, explore the cave at your own pace, while another guide stationed in the centre of the cave can answer questions and provide more information on the many beautiful areas within the cave.

Enjoy a full winery experience, from vine to wine, and garden to table.  Starting with an interactive, behind-the-scenes Estate tour, you’ll see where it all begins - in the vineyard. Visit the large underground cellar, and taste wine straight from the barrel in the barrel hall. Plus, discover a bit about the history of this long-established estate along the way. Once you’ve seen where the wine comes from, it’s time to savor the flavor, as you're taken through a guided tasting session. Then move into the stunning restaurant for a decadent and interactive "discovery" menu. This is a 7-course sensory dining experience. The in-house chefs have taken inspiration from the wines and have crafted dishes which complement the wine styles, while showcasing the finest seasonal produce from the Margaret River region. 

A trip to the Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse and keepers’ cottages will reveal the fascinating maritime history of the Cape region. Easier than most lighthouses to climb, this lighthouse tower is accessible even for small children, and is one of the most popular attractions in the Margaret River Region. 30-minute guided tours provide a fascinating insight into the functions of the working lighthouse, the history of the local area, and even several ghost stories that are sure to have you spooked. From the top balcony, visitors are rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of the Indian Ocean, Cape Naturaliste, Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park, and the beautiful Geographe Bay coastline. The new observation platform at the base of the lighthouse tower also provides sweeping views of the ocean and Geographe Bay and is an ideal location for snapping some scenic photos.
