Day 4: Chinchero, Maras, and Moray in the Sacred Valley of the Incas Begin with a visit to the Chinchero textile center, before moving onward to the archaeological sites in Chinchero and Moray. Following that, you will tour the salt mines in Maras before taking the train from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes, lodging at the Golden Sunrise Hotel or similar in Aguas Calientes. Day 5: Machu Picchu Inca Citadel On day 5 you will explore the breathtaking Machu Picchu, which is one of the Seven Wonders of the world. Following a full day at this sacred site. In the afternoon, take the train from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo and arrive in Cusco by transportation, you will overnight at the Ayni Cusco Hotel or similar. Day 6: Humantay Lake On your sixth day, you will trek to Humantay Lake, which is close to the snowy Salkantay mountain, you will be able to know the first camp of the famous Salkantay trek. That evening you will once again lodge in the Ayni Cusco Hotel or similar. Day 7: Rainbow Mountain Trek to Rainbow Mountain, which is very close to the highest mountain of Cusco: the Ausangate Mountain, this is a famous place around Cusco. Following your day of hiking, you will return once more to the Ayni Cusco Hotel or similar overnight. Day 8: Route of the Sun On day 8 you will take a bus tour between Cusco and Puno. Throughout this journey, you will visit the Andahuaylillas Chapel, Raqchi Archaeological Complex, La Raya Pass, and the Lithic Museum of Pukara. That evening you will stay at the Qalasaya Hotel or similar. Day 9: Titicaca Lake and the Uros and Taquile Islands On the final day, you will take a speed boat tour of Lake Titicaca, before exploring the Uros and Taquile Islands. Day 1: Cusco – Moray Salt Mines – Aguas Calientes You will be picked up from your hotel between 8:00-8:15AM before heading to Moray. The drive will last around 1 hour and 20 minutes, and is scenically breathtaking. You will drive through the snow capped peaks of the Andes, the lush yellow wheat fields, and traditional Andean villages. You will eventually arrive in the fascinating terraces of Moray, which is made up of three amphitheater-like terraces constructed by the Incas. These terraces, which are carved deep into the earth in a bowl shape, are thought to have been used as an agricultural laboratory to determine the optimal conditions for growing crops. After exploring Moray, you will head to the salt mines of Maras, which are just 2 miles away. Dating back to colonial times, Maras was considered a salt-producing center. Carved into the mountain side are over 3,000 salt pools, which are filled daily by a little stream of water. Once the water evaporates, it leaves behind a glistening patchwork of salt. The salt mines are a great spot to take pictures and capture the amazing beauty of both the Andes and the spectacular Salineras. Following the salt mines, your next destination is Urubamba, where you will arrive at approximately 1:00PM to enjoy lunch in one of the local restaurants. From Urubamba, it is just 30 minutes to get to Ollantaytambo Train Station. Your train will depart at 3:37PM to Aguas Calientes, which will be an approximately 1.5-hour journey. During the train ride, you can take time to appreciate the beauty of the surrounding valleys and Andes mountains. The train will arrive in Aguas Calientes, which is a small town located at the base of Machu Picchu, where your transfer will be waiting you at the train station to take you to your selected hotel in Aguas Calientes. Day 2: Machu Picchu - Cusco Today is the most important day, as you will be visiting Machu Picchu. Because it’s so special, we encourage you to wake up early in the morning to enjoy breakfast at the hotel before you head to the bus station to try to catch one of the first buses at 5:30AM (they are all on a first come first serve basis). The bus will take about 25 minutes to get to Machu Picchu, and as soon as you arrive to the complex, you will be taken to the best spot to overlook all the ruins and receive panoramic views of the landscape and the sunrise over the mountains. There will be a rendezvous to observe the sunrise (if weather allows), in order to attain spectacular views of the Lost City of the Incas. You will then have a 2-hour guided tour around Machu Picchu, with plenty of free time afterwards to explore on your own. If you have tickets to climb the amazing mountain of Huaynapicchu, your guide will direct you to where this hike begins. Please make sure this is arranged at least a month in advance of your visit, as tickets do sell out. Once you are done exploring all Machu Picchu has to offer, you will take a bus down to Aguas Calientes for lunch, after which you will take an afternoon train back to Ollantaytambo. From there you will take a private bus back to Cusco, where you will be dropped off at your hotel.

This site is highly recommended for photography lovers because of its impressive landscape. After visiting the salt mines, enjoy lunch in one of the local restaurants of Urubamba. Next, make your way to Ollantaytambo to hop onboard the train to Aguas Calientes. Depart at 3:37 PM and enjoy a scenic 1.5-hour journey. During the train ride, take time to appreciate the beauty of the surrounding valleys and Andes mountains. The train will arrive in Aguas Calientes, which is a small town located at the base of Machu Picchu. Your transfer will be waiting for you at the train station to take you to your selected hotel in Aguas Calientes. Have a meeting with your guide to find out the scheduled departure time for Machu Picchu the next morning.   Day 2: It is recommended to wake up early in the morning to enjoy breakfast at the hotel. At the scheduled time, head to the bus station to try to catch one of the first buses, which begin at 5:30 AM and fill on a first-come, first-served basis. The bus journey will take about 25 minutes to get to Machu Picchu. As soon as you arrive at the complex, meet your guide who will take you to the best viewing spots throughout the ruins. Get a panoramic view of the landscape and the sunrise over the mountains. There will be a rendezvous to observe the sunrise in order to get spectacular views of the Lost City of the Incas. Take a 2-hour guided tour around Machu Picchu, with plenty of free time afterwards to explore the ruins on your own. If you have tickets to climb the amazing mountain of Huaynapicchu, your guide will direct you to where this hike begins. Please make sure this is arranged at least 1 or 2 months in advance of your visit, as tickets do sell out fast. Once you are done exploring all Machu Picchu has to offer, take a bus down to Aguas Calientes then take the train back to Ollantaytambo. From here, be returned to the historic center of Cusco.

Day 1: Cusco Navel of the World to Museo Inka Y Koricancha. This morning will be reserved for resting or free time. In the afternoon, visit the Inka Museum, which is home of thousands of years of Andean culture. Here, become more familiar with the origins and beginnings of Andean civilizations. Continue the tour to the temple of Koricancha, the famous Sun Temple of Qosqo, which was, and still remains, the pinaccle of organization, architecture, and religion of Inka civilization. During its construction, they had already achieved the greatest advances of their time. This temple may have been the exact representation of the Navel of the World and therefore the center of the world, as dictated by the pre-hispanic Andean cosmovision. Stay at the 3-star Cusco Tandapata Boutique Hotel or similar. Day 2: Chinchero to Maras Salt Mines and Moray. Be collected around 8:00 AM and head to Moray. The drive is about 1 hour and 20 minutes and is absolutely beautiful. You will drive through the snow-capped peaks of the Andes and through lush yellow fields of wheat, past some villages. Finally, you will arrive at the fascinating display of terraces in Moray. Moray boasts three amphitheater-like terraces made by the Incas. These terraces, which are carved deep into the earth in a bowl shape, were thought to be used to determine the optimal conditions for growing crops. When you are done exploring Moray, you will head to the salt mines of Maras, which is about 2 miles away. This village is known as a former salt-producing center that is thought to date back to pre-Inca times. There are over 3,000 salt pools carved into the mountain side, which are filled daily by a little stream of water. The last place to visit will be Chinchero. Here, admire the well-preserved Inka walls of the main square as well as the many altars. Visit the beautiful colonial church, which is unique with its interior artwork and imagery. Moving on, participate in a wonderful introduction and learning experience of the art of Andean textiles. Throughout the afternoon, become acquainted with the wisdom of Andean weavings as maintained since long before Inka times. Once you are done, you will head back to the city in time to enjoy some lunch on your own. Stay at the 3-star Cusco Tandapata Boutique Hotel or similar. Day 3: Cusco to Molleptat to Soraypampa Trek. Leave from Cusco approximately between 4:30 AM and 5:00 AM. A bus will take you to the town of Mollepata at 2,900 meters above sea level for approximately 8:00 AM. Stop for last minute supplies, leg-stretching, and using the restrooms. Continue to the trek starting point, Sayapata. Meet the support staff, who will load the equipment onto horses and mules. Around 9:00 AM, begin the walk toward Soraypampa at 3,850 meters above sea level. During the trip, have panoramic views of the majestic Salkantay, other mountains covered with snow, and the Valley of Apurimac River. At about 1:00 PM, have a Peruvian lunch. Then, continue hiking toward Humantay Lake, which takes approximately 3 hours. This is a beautiful lake in the mountains. Return to the camp, where dinner and your tent will be ready for you. Day 4: SorayPampa to Challway. Today, nature will change drastically from dry sceneries to snowy peaks and tropical areas. After a nutritious breakfast, start the most difficult part of the trek. Being around 7:00 AM and hike to a place called Pampas Salkantay. Go toward the left side of the snowy peaks of Umantay, located next to the Apu Salkantay. At midday, you will reach the highest point at 4,600 meters above sea level. Appreciate spectacular views of the mountains and the imposing snowy peaks of the Salkantay at 6,264 meters above sea level, which is known as the second highest point of the Cusco region. At around 1:00 PM, have lunch in the area called Huayracmachay. After a trek of approximately 3 hours, arrive at your camp in Challway at 2,920 meters above sea level. At around 7:00 PM, recuperate from the trek and eat dinner. Day 5: Challway to La Playa to Lucmabamba. At around 7:00 AM, begin your trek and enjoy the beautiful sunrise. Walk for about 5 hours toward Playa Sahuayaco and during this period see a town called Collpabamba, which is also called the Forest Cloudy Brow where waterfalls, fruit-bearing trees, varied flora, and birds can be observed. If you are lucky, you will be able to observe the famous bird called the Cock of the Rocks, which is the national bird of Peru. Once at Playa Sahuayaco have lunch then continue hiking for a couple of hours to get to Lucmabamba, which is your last campsite and the beginning of the Inca Trail of Llacta Pata. Day 6: Lucmabamba to Llaptapata to Hydro-Electrical Power Plant to Aguas Calientes. At around 8:00 AM, begin the gradual hike up for about 2 hours. Reach Llapta Pata, a beautiful archeological site with connections to the Inca sites of Machupicchu and Sayacmarka. Have plenty of time to explore this Inca site. Then, start your descent to the hydro-electrical power plant, which takes about 1.5-hours. A pleasant 3-hour walk will bring you to Aguas Calientes, where you will stay in Aguas Calientes Hatun Samay Hotel or a similar hostel for the night. Go out and have dinner together in one of the many restaurants. Day 7: Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu to Cusco. Today, rise very early to catch the first bus to Machu Picchu and enter the site as it opens. There will be a 2-3 hour guided tour of the site to show you some of the most important locations, altars, and constructions. You will learn about the history of this amazing place and the people who once lived here. After, if you have the permit to climb either Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu mountain, you can do it now. In the afternoon, your train will depart Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo then you will carry on by bus to Cusco. Stay at the 3-star Cusco Tandapata Boutique Hotel or similar. Day 8: Free day and fly to Lima. You have the morning to relax and spend free time exploring Cusco. In the afternoon, take the transfer to the airport for your departure flight to Lima.

Day 1: Cusco City Tour   Following a pickup from your hotel between 1:10 PM and 1:25 PM, visit the Cusco Cathedral followed by the the most important temple in the Inca Empire, Qorikancha. Then, board the transport and discover ancient ruins at Sacsayhuamán, Qenqo, Puka Pukara, and Tambomachay, enjoying stories and explanations at each point. Return to Cusco around 7:30 PM and make your own way back to your accommodation. Day 2: Maras and Salineras Depart with a pickup from your hotel between 8:25 AM and 8:55 AM and then be on your way to Maras in the Sacred Valley of southeastern Peru, famous for its salt mines and marshes. Situated an hour from Cusco, enjoy an explanation of the town before going to a salt marsh where you'll also have views of the snowy and sacred mountains. Return to Cusco around 3 PM when you will be dropped off at or nearby your hotel. Day 3: Machupicchu All Day On this day you will be picked in the early morning around 3:30 AM from your hotel and transfer to Ollantaytambo where you will board a 6:10 AM train. After a journey of 1.5 hours, you’ll arrive around 8 AM when your guide will be waiting for you and you’ll have some time for breakfast. then I could get on the consettur bus (24 dollars we do not include). Next, with the help of your guide, get on the bus to travel to Machu Picchu where you’ll have time to take pictures and appreciate the wondrous nature and the Inca City. Then return to Aguas Calientes on your own where you should have time for lunch, keeping in mind that your train back to Ollantaytambo leaves at 6:20 p.m. Upon arrival the shared tourist transport will be waiting for you to take you back to Cusco arriving at 10 PM. where the tour will end at the wanchaq station.
