Get picked up from your hotel in Mandalay to drive to Amarapura. There, visit Mahagandayon, a well-known Buddhist Monastery, where thousands of monks live and study. Then, head over to the U-Bein Bridge, one of Myanmar's most popular spots to take photos and the longest wooden teak bridge in the world. After a lunch break, take the boat to Innwa, the former royal capital, locally known as Ava. Here, enjoy an adventurous ride on a horse and cart, then visit the Nanmyint Watch Tower and Maha Aung Mye Bonzan Monastery. After this, see lots of unique wood carvings when visiting the Bagaya Monastery and drop around to see a small group of pagodas at Yadana Hsemee Pagoda Complex. Explore the U-Min Thonze caves, and admire the 45 images of the Buddha on display. Next, visit the Soon U Ponya Shin Pagoda, one of the oldest and richest pagodas in Sagaing Hill. End your tour with a visit to the Shwe Kyat Kya Pagoda, which offers a beautiful sunset view of the Sagaing Hill.

If you're into Burmese history and old ruins, then this tour is up your alley. Our guide, Mr Brown, was very knowledgeable about the ancient cities and really took the time to explain the details. He even brought us to this place for lunch that served food suited to our palate. The only thing that I'd recommend to other travellers is to bring along a face mask as it can be very dusty at certain places.
