Full description
Bike through narrow lanes, far from the tourist crowds, and truly experience the beauty of Myanmar's former royal capitals.  At midday, transfer by private van with a local English-speaking guide to the back entrance of Ava. Pedal along flat, quiet roads through a village where little has changed in the last century. Stop in to visit local artisans at work, crafting by hand items such as bamboo mats and local cigars. Continue past impressive 200-year old brick structures, the former palace grounds of Ava and through a banana plantation to the end of the village. Following a short ferry ride, its back on the bikes to the town of Amarapura. Pop in to meet traditional silk and cotton weavers, pause for a cup of sweet tea in a local shop and discover the quiet rhythms of village life. As the sun begins to drop, arrive at the famous U Bein's Bridge, the world's longest teak bridge, and board a row boat for a sunset cruise. The tour concludes with a transfer by van back to the city centre.

This was a highlight of my trip to Myanmar. The ride through the villages was so magical, with "hello" being shouted from the smiling faces along with several high fives... Visiting the businesses and seeing how they live day-by-day was a treat... The pagodas... rice fields... and the grand finale at U Bein bridge, watching the sunset from the boat - the icing on the cake. The ride is flat and not difficult, so not to worry. And my guide (since I was solo on this day's journey) spoke very good english and was very informative. Thank you Wai "Linn" Aung! You're the best.

Stunning countryside to cycle ride, a must on the to do list

Had the most incredible afternoon cycling around with our wonderful guide Si. Everything was so well thought out, from the great bikes, to the helmets to the water bottles provided! Stunning countryside to cycle through, it was an easy cycle & so lovely to get off the beaten track & out of Mandalay for an afternoon. The temples of Ava are wonderful to visit & so nice to bike to. U Bein is breathtaking to see from the lake & again this was all well planned however U Bein is hugely popular and overrun with visitors so don’t expect calm & tranquility! It’s amazing to see & a total must. We’d highly recommend this trip & Si.

Awesome afternoon

Great tour. My guide was awesome and told me all the history of the local area as we biked around. The bikes are amazing really comfy. Lots to see but the finish with the awesome sunset was quiet something to see. We stopped for some yummy treats Aldi along the way. I would recommend this tour for sure.
