Full description
Take a walking tour of the highlights of Palma and travel back through the millennia. Learn how the old city was shaped and built by the Romans, Ostrogoths, Vandals, Byzantines, Moors and the royalty of Aragon. At Parc de la Mar, under the cathedral, the walking tour begins with a close look at the founding of the city and the changes in the political situation. Make your way to the fishing harbor, past the maritime trade exchange to the Consulado del Mar, a historic building whose use has changed over the years and is today the most important political building of the Balearic islands. Go through the old fishing district to the old fortress complex Es Baluard, home to an incredible view over the city and harbor. Further on, pass the Museu d'Art Modern i Contemporani and arrive at the maze of streets in the old city. Discover the romantic Paseo del Borne and see the former houses of the aristocracy, today 5-star hotels. Continue into the upper city and discover the historical town hall, the parliament and the Almudaina Palace, and enjoy the impressive view of the cathedral with its rich history.  Continue on to the marketplace Mercat de L'Olivar, with an incredible selection of Mediterranean products from which regional dishes may be made. Try a selection of local specialties and learn about what makes Mediterranean cuisine unique.

The tour of Palma with our guide Petra was very interesting

We were in parts of Palma where we would never have gone otherwise. Good explanations. The subsequent Mediterranean part would have been better for my group if we had had a seat in the market halls. After 2 hours of tour through Palma, my seniors were a bit tired. But everything else ok. We will also book the agency for our next trips, as this can be done from home.

A nice tour of traditional Palma!

The city tour was carried out very competently and very naturally by our very friendly guide Maria. We have learned a lot of news and interesting information about the great city of Palma. The highlight was a walk through the Mercado D´Olivar market followed by fingerfoot (fish) and a glass of cava. We loved it all around. Always happy with GetYourGuide!
