Our original date was cancelled due to there not being enough numbers but thankfully was rescheduled for the next night and the company made sure to make us aware of this so we didn't miss out. The building itself is easy to find with the help of Google maps but the room itself is up two flights of stairs and I'm unsure if there is a lift so it may not be accessible for everyone, but for us it was fine. The host greeted us warmly and we received a nice glass of sparkling wine when we arrived. Before the recital started we were told some information about Chopin and his life which was very interesting. The pianist that night who i think was named Radoslaw (they have a few who take turns) was absolutely amazing, he is so talented. It was great to be able to experience Chopins music live. I would definitely recommend going to a recital while you are in Krakow as you will not regret it!
We brought a 3 day Krakow card and it made our holiday so easy, particularly when using the trams. It avoided the need to always have the correct change for the automatic ticket machines which reduced our stress levels considerably. It also provides access to so many museums/sites of interest: there is so much to do in Krakow that you are spoilt for choice.
At the start, you are told a bit about the history of Chopin which is interesting to hear. The rooms ambience could have been better, they do turn down some of the lighting at the start but it still feels a little bright. The pianist was wonderful, and it was a pleasure to hear Chopin’s music live. The wine is a slightly sweet, sparkling white wine.
Lovely setting and fantastic recital from the pianist who was highly highly talented. If you like classical music this is a great and inexpensive thing to do in Krakow, however, If not, this could be a very long hour for you (like my brother who nearly fell asleep)
lovely evening listening to Chopin played expertly and with passion. Only down side was the obvious 'grumpiness' of the pianist when she arrived. This did not affect the playing though - she was very good
