Depart Madrid and journey by bus to the city of Cuenca, built on rocks that lie between the rivers Júcar and Huécar. You will be captivated by the dramatic setting where you can marvel at the engineering skills of those who built houses, cathedrals and more on the side of the cliffs.
You can admire the facade of Spain's first Gothic cathedral, rebuilt after it crumbled down in 1902. Explore the extraordinary complex of Hanging Houses (Casas Colgadas), built on the edge of the gorge in the 15th century. See the amazing 16th-century Puente de San Pablo (Bridge of St. Paul), designed to connect the old town with the Convent of St. Paul.
Attain stunning views of the karst landscape, formed millions of years ago, and discover the underwater scenery that hid the Sea of Thetis. Stroll among curious stones shaped like animals as well as different landscapes, before your return journey to Madrid.
