Maui: Catamaran Whale Cruise from Lahaina or Māʻalaea Harbor

4. Maui: Catamaran Whale Cruise from Lahaina or Māʻalaea Harbor

Discover why Maui is the place to spot humpback whales during an exciting ocean adventure in peak migration season. Board a comfortable catamaran at either Māʻalaea or Lahaina Harbor and escape into the ‘Au ‘au channel which boasts the greatest number of whales near Maui. Venture out into the warm and protected ocean waters which make an ideal location for the humpbacks to mate and give birth to their calves. Known for their acrobatics, the whales are often seen fully breaching out of the ocean. Join the captain and crew in keeping a lookout as you stay refreshed with a variety of beverages, including wine and local beer. This trip is exclusively sailing, so relax onboard without the drone of a motor as you head to wherever the whales may be. Sailing out of Māʻalaea Bay and Lahaina can be quite exhilarating on a catamaran, so keep in mind that this trip can be more of an adventure if the winds are up.

This is a MUST experience to have. The crew were above and beyond helpful, informative, and professional. Our 4 year old enjoyed this, our two teens enjoyed this, my wife and I all enjoyed this. We’re still talking about it. I read many of the other reviews “Too many people, otherwise good”… not this tour. The ship is the perfect size, not too many other passengers but just the right amount. The sailing was one of the “unforeseen” winners of this tour. Captain Greg and his crew shared their love and passion with everyone on board. WHEN we come back, this is top of our list of things to do again. Oh yeah, and did I mention you get to snorkel at the Crater?! You do and it’s awesome!!! Hope this helps. Good and drinks are great too. I think I’ve covered it all but you won’t go wrong with this adventure tour.

The trip was exactly as advertised. The captain, Greg was fantastic. He is personable and very knowledgable. He and his two assistants made it a point to know everyone's name on the boat. This made the trip feel more personal. The breakfast was better than expected with egg sandwiches along with fresh fruit and coffee. The lunch was a typical cold cut sandwich meal. There was plenty of food. They also had beer and hard seltzer included in the cost of the trip. The snorkeling was beautiful, and the ride out on the pontoon boat was fantastic. I would highly recommend using this service again.

This was such a fun half day! Highly recommend taking a sail boat to snorkel Molokini - it was so fun!The crew was extremely knowledgeable and friendly.

Mike was a great guide and provided great information about the area and history-would recommend for all.

Boat and crew were great. Ride over to Molokimi was nice!
