Full description
Lviv is an original place for lovers. You will get to know what sins an Armenian man, Ivashko and a Polish woman, Sophia were punished for, why it was possible to buy jam at Lviv pharmacies, where Artur Grottger was dating his beloved Wanda Monné and how this story ended. A tour guide will tell you other love stories and events which took place in old and modern Lviv! You will have the opportunity to enjoy a thrilling cocktail in a theme café/restaurant dedicated to Leopold von Sacher-Masoch, a writer and utopian thinker, whose name is connected with the term masochism. This extravagant place transmits the atmosphere of the famous writer's times, who was born in 1836 in Lviv. The walls are decorated with masochistic attributes such as chains, which can be tested by the visitors in action, leather shoulder straps, cords, knots, handcuffs, erotic photos. The staff is dressed in leather masochistic outfits. The glass doors in the restaurant have the shape of a keyhole. Names and components of almost all dishes and drinks are connected with masochism and the creativity of the one who wrote "Venus in Fur". "Masoch cafe" commissioned a bronze statue of the writer. Located at the cafe’s entrance, the sculpture is surrounded by tourists, as it is just as provocative as its representation. On your way out the door, don’t forget to reach into Leopold’s pocket for this café’s version of a fortune cookie.
