What a fun few hours spent with Luca, our guide. He spoke excellent English and gave us a very interesting tour around Lucca outlining the history and various landmarks. There seemed to be no question he couldn't answer! The bikes were easy to handle and in good condition and the small family-run vineyard was like being invited to lunch by distant family. The tour was very simple, showing winemaking on a small scale but they answered any questions we had and we got to try 3 very nice wines with a delicious lunch. There was no hard sell to get us to buy more wine, but we did anyway! Just as we were due to leave the heavens opened so we were invited back in to drink coffee until the rain had passed. Throughout the day we felt we got very personal service and were not rushed on to the next stage at any time. I would highly recommend this tour.
Great if you just want a half day trip instead of a week long coach tour across 17 vineyards in Tuscany. Two wineries which we saw were very nice and different. Tour guide spoke perfect English and was able to translate our questions to the owner very well. Opportunity to buy single bottles rather than cases but no hard sell. I would recommend for anyone who is interested in trying the wine in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
This was a wonderful experience! The countryside and views were beautiful, as were the 2 vineyards we visited. The hosts (owners) of the vineyards were friendly and interesting, very welcoming and genuinely enthusiastic about their homes and businesses. Our tour guide (Amelia) was also wonderful, very knowledgeable, helpful, considerate... and also very fun!
My adult daughters and I had a memorable day in Lucca! The electric bikes made it so easy to get out of the City and climb the hills in the countryside. Our tour guide Luca was charming and so knowledgeable. It is so rare to find a tour like this that lets you experience a historic city and enjoy home grown wine and local food. Well worth it!
We had a thoroughly enjoyable time. The guide was perfect for the trip. Emilia was fun, passionate and very knowledgeable. She introduced everyone so that no one felt awkward in a mixed group. The food and wine were absolutely delicious, and the hosts were very attentive. We bought 12 bottles!
