We set off from Lucca at 5:00 am to meet our guides north of Florence. , which was over an hour drive from Lucca. Our tour meeting point had been changed from 7 minutes from our Airbnb, which was disappointing but couldn’t be helped due to the weather. The balloon ride was smooth and felt safe. We were a bit nervous about getting 17 people off the ground in one basket but both the take off and landing went off without a hitch. Our pilot, Orlando, was very informative and professional. One of our friends is very afraid of heights but said he never felt anxious during the ride. The beauty of the Tuscan landscape is difficult to describe using words alone. I wish I could attach pictures. It was well worth the early start and cost. I would highly recommend it as an essential part of the Tuscan experience. We landed fairly gracefully in a farmers field and were treated to an awesome champagne breakfast. It felt like such an adventure. We would all highly recommend it:)

A magical experience which we will treasure always. This superseded all our expectations and enhanced our love of Tuscany to another level. The balloon ride itself was like a peaceful dream with a gentle take-off and landing. We floated in tranquillity as the sun rose and on coming back down to earth were met with a beautiful champagne breakfast. The team were so friendly and professional exuding a 'chilled out' vibe which fitted the scene perfectly.  I would say that a key recommendation would be to be mindful of communication with the meeting points as these can change due to wind direction. Check your phone/emails vigilantly the day before as there was confusion with communication and we drove to a false location using the app co-ordinate as we were advised to and missed the balloon ride after getting up at 2 30 am to drive the distance. The communication was bad. We made contact with the hot air balloon organization in Italy ourselves. We would hear 1 day in advance where we had to go. That didn't happen. We had ordered the flight in Lucca, but because of the wind we went to Florence. That was an hour away for us. The address with the pile up was then clear by mail. Obviously again unclear in which hot air balloon we had to board, but we had a good speed with very nice crew! The landing was good, but a bit out of the direction of the crew, they couldn't find us at first. But after a long wait and a delicious breakfast in the various jeeps, we returned to the pick-up point!
