One of the best memories from my LA trip! I booked this tour as a single participant and we had a small group of four people total. Stephen was our guide and he was absolutely amazing! He is very knowledgeable about the area, wildlife and even told us some cool stories about the local boats. I was able to get the equipment (a single kayak) that I initially requested. The paddle on the way out was easy as we were going with the current, on the way back it was a little bit harder but I expected some kind of a workout and Stephen also informed us about that, so it felt perfect overall. We spotted multiple sea lions enjoying themselves on the docks and were able to take a few cool pics with our phones. We also saw a few huge beautiful yachts in the main channel. I can recommend this experience to everyone who loves animals as this is a prefect way to see them in their natural habitat. Very peaceful and worth to do experience.

MUST READ - ACTIVITY NOT AS ADVERTISED! We had a great time out on the water with our freelance tour guide Walker. He gets 5 stars. He was knowledgeable about the area and we easily found sea lions which are a common sight in this area. The company that offers this excursion gets 3 stars. Don't expect to see dolphins. Also even though you may be given the choice to choose SUP, double kayak, or single kayak when you book, you may not have a choice when you arrive. There is enough equipment but you may not get the item you want out on the water. Lastly, the tour guide will not take pictures of you and your group even though it says so in the excursion description. If you want pictures you will need to take them yourself. I recommend bringing a dry bag for your phone in case it gets wet. Tour company please update your description of this tour as it is misleading to paying customers. I recommend this tour to all out-of-towners. Have fun on the water everyone!

Walker took us and a couple others out to see sea lions and it was great. Not only do you get to see them close (while respecting their space) but you get to paddle board or kayak to them. Our guide made sure everyone was safe and instructions on how you handle a spill over. Bang for the buck on this one!
