You’ll be met at your hotel or other agreed meeting point and enjoy a drive by private car to Windsor, a location that has been linked to British monarchy for more than 900 years. It is also the weekend home of the Queen, who very much enjoys spending time at Windsor Castle. On this half-day tour you’ll visit the sumptuously decorated castle and hear about its history. The royal residence houses more fine art, gold, and furnishings than is imaginable. Inside the walls you’ll also find the chapel where a number of kings and queens have been buried. You’ll take a walk around the castle walls, see the soldiers on guard, and maybe even a royal if you’re lucky! Following the Castle visit, you’ll take a walk around Windsor Old Town, visit the famous park, and see the Crooked House, perhaps stopping for tea, or maybe a beer at a 500-year-old pub. The tour is leisurely paced and will cover everything you’re interested in seeing that can covered in the time allotted. Complimentary hot and cold drinks are included.

It was a good tour overall. However, given the private nature of the tour and a very high price tag, we expected much more information to be provided by our guide about Windsor Castle. However, our guide informed us that he could not tell us much because he was not accredited to be a guide at the Castle grounds which was a disappointment. We were left to our own devices for the most of our time in Windsor Castle to use the audio guide which was not our original intention or expectation. The car which was used to take us to Windsor and back did not have good air conditioning, which made it a hard journey on a very hot day. We came back exhausted and I had a fever caused by heat so I needed a day to recuperate after the trip. While our guide was nice and friendly and shared some interesting facts with us while outside the Windsor Castle, I think for the money we paid we expected much more guidance on the Castle grounds and better car to be provided.

Very good tour to Windsor Castle

Windsor Castle is very impressive and we liked it a lot better than Buckingham Palace! Stephen went out of his way to show us everything! it was a wonderful trip.
