Journey through more than 6 decades of popular culture at the British Music Experience in the heart of Liverpool. Whatever age you are, and whatever you are into, there is something here for you. There are outfits worn by artists from Freddie Mercury and Dusty Springfield, to the Spice Girls, and Adam Ant and musical instruments played by some of the world’s most renowned artists from Noel Gallagher to the Sex Pistols. See over 600 artifacts, such as handwritten song lyrics from Adele, the original statues from the Brits, and the Apple Corp front door from Saville Row. You can also get involved. You can learn a musical instrument with the best music equipment available, from drum kits to keyboards, and dance the decades in our dance studio! After the main event, browse an exclusive range of gifts, clothing, books, and memorabilia from the shop and you can rest those dancing feet with a selection of delicious snacks and meals in the Star Café.

Fantastic! A must visit if going to Liverpool and doing the whole Music History thing... Staff and helpful, lovely and friendly. Cafe is cool. Travel through British Music through the decades, right to left going earliest to 2000s. Have a go playing drums, guitar and keyboard. Dance through the decades with Just Dance. See the amazing memorabilia! Original song lyrics, signed guitars, outfits worn by the famous. 10/10 Your ticket is valid for a year to revisit when you want! Great value.

Nice exhibit, I went there to see the ABBA Voyage 'Phoenix' Costumes which were lovely. Nicely laid out with lots of videos and photos but I didn't see any Bananarama exhibits (they had spice girl costumes & videos) which was puzzling since they are THE biggest girl band in the UK ever... why weren't they there??? Also missing was Atomic Kitten (who are all from Liverpool) a very local and very successful girl band who were part of the Eurovision festivities in 2023 - yet not a mention of them in this exhibit - again puzzling... Puzzling as American bands were exhibited but successful UK girl bands totally ignored... made me wonder if whoever chose the exhibits was sexist or uninformed/stupid????

I loved it. I was surprised that it covered decades of music with display cases with musicians instruments of the most famous artists. I thought it would be all Cilla and Beatles but it covered my favourite era too. It was all on one floor which was a surprise but it was massive. I spent an hour there watching and listening to the Eurovision videos and looking at the costumes of all the pop artists of the decades. Well worth a visit.
