Full description

On this full-day tour, you’ll discover Sintra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Admire the town which is surrounded by an amazing natural park, a medieval Castle, and beautiful Palaces and Chalets. Take a walk along the medieval streets of Sintra and drive through the national park noticing the rare fauna, the unique trees, the Moorish Castle, Monserrate Palace, and the several chalets along the road. Visit Pena Palace, one of the most impressive architectural expressions of 19th-century Romanticism in the world and one of Portugal’s seven wonders. Say goodbye to Sintra with an optional visit to mystical Quinta da Regaleira, a palace surrounded by luxuriant gardens, lakes, caves, and enigmatic constructions that hide obscure alchemist meanings, evoked by Freemasons, Knights Templars, and Rosicrucians. Continue on to the westernmost point of continental Europe at Roca Cape. Travel along the coast and embrace the Atlantic, stopping in Cascais, once a holiday retreat for the royal family and the European aristocracy. Enjoy all these amazing places from a comfortable seat in a small air-conditioned minivan. Pickup and drop-off at your hotel or apartment in Lisbon make for an even more pleasant experience.

Such a great day! We learned so much and got some amazing pictures. Our tour guide Andre Feldman aka "Dr. Feldman" knows pretty much everything there is to know about Sintra. I'm pretty sure I heard him speak at least 6 different languages fluently, as he chatted up a storm with anyone we encountered! He was quite the comedian and kept us laughing all day! Andre knew all the best places to take pictures and gave us many other recommendations! This tour was worth every penny!

We really enjoyed this tour! Our guide was really nice and funny! We were picked up punctually at our hotel and then drove to the Palácio Nacional da Pena with a small bus and six other tourists. We were allowed to choose whether we wanted to go into the castle or not. Admission cost €13.30 and we had a total of 1 hour to explore the palace on our own. That was very close, because unfortunately the palace was totally overrun (and not particularly big either). We would not visit the Pena Palace next time and rather plan a little more time for the Quinta da Regaleira property (€10 entry), because it was really beautiful, very big and the entry fee is worth it! Then we drove to Cabo da Roca and spent 15 minutes marveling at the westernmost point of mainland Europe. Finally, we had 1.5 hours of free time in the seaside town of Cascais. We would definitely recommend this tour.

A very busy day but totally worth it. Seen a lot. The only thing you have to take into account is that the entrance tickets are not included in the price. This will be communicated in itself, but take into account € 24 pp (price level September 2022). I prefer an all-in price when booking.
