Full description
The tour begins with a visit to the romantic Sintra Mountains. Classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, the mountain range is full of palaces, mansions, cottages, convents, churches, chapels and shrines set amidst lush vegetation. It has been the inspiration for great authors of European literature, abundant in archaeological remains that show that it has been occupied over numerous millennia. You can stroll through charming streets in the historic center of Sintra. The tour will then climb the beautiful mountain roads to the most extravagant Portuguese palace, Pena Palace, a fascinating fairytale castle built in the romantic Portuguese style. Continuing the tour, visit the cellars of Adega Regional de Colares that have two centuries of prestigious history. Here you can enjoy the history of the winery, visit the cellar and taste its unique wines. Cabo Roca, the most western point of continental Europe, is the next stop. This is a stunning place of infinite blue that offers a superb view of the Atlantic Ocean at its most wild. Afterward, the tour will pass by the Guincho beach area and travel along the coast road until you arrive in Cascais, a sophisticated and charming village with a lovely bay. Marvel at the largest casino in Europe as you pass the Casino Estoril before heading back to Lisbon. Your guide will accompany you along the way, sharing stories and curiosities about the places visited.

A very good tour with our fantastic guide (Rita)

The trip to Sintra very good, as we avoided long queues. We got there early in the morning. Wine tasting was not as we expected, but we got to try both a white and a red glass of wine. Nice trip to Europe's western vantage point. On the way back we were released a short distance from the hotel, which we appreciated.

Amazing - Top

I can only recommend this tour. With Barbara as tour guide it was a lot of fun, so again a big thank you. She explained everything very well and the day was one of the best. It is best to take a jacket because it can be cool on the mountain. The views were amazing.

Excellent Tour...but they forgot the Wine Tasting Part

The trip from Lisbon to Sintra was nice and then to Pena Palace quite beautiful! The Palace tour was lovely and included a bit of a hike to the top, all worth it! Then the drive to the beach was not bad and we had a few hours there to shop and eat. The only thing that was missing was the Wine Tasting, which we were really looking forward to participating in...our voucher noted a wine tasting but one of the other couples voucher did not.
