Full description
Escape Lisbon and go on a full-day, guided journey to some of Portugal’s most popular locations stopping at the iconic Pena Palace in Sintra, the awe-inspiring cliffs of Cabo da Roca, and the ritzy seaside town of Cascais.  Your journey from Lisbon starts at the famous city of Sintra, whose Romanticist architecture, historic estates and villas, and numerous royal palaces and castles have made it a UNESCO World Heritage site.  Enjoy the freedom of choosing for some options whether you want an included entry ticket and tour of the colorful Pena Palace, or whether you prefer to gain some extra free time instead. Arriving early into Sintra means greater chances of avoiding the long lines at its most famous site, if you choose to go with your guide on a comprehensive tour through its lavish interiors and lush gardens. The palace’s faithful restoration and fairy-tale-like appearance will impress you with its beautiful facade and extravagant interior. Next, head over to the center of Sintra and get 1.5-hours of free time to wander on your own. Your guide will give you recommendations of the city’s must-see locations as well as the best restaurant options for delicious traditional Portuguese dining.    Continue onto Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of continental Europe, and take in the impressive views of the ocean crashing against the high rocky cliffs. If weather permitting, stop at Guincho beach, whose strong winds and high swells have made it a popular surfing destination.     Lastly, arrive in Cascais, an elegant seaside resort town on the Portuguese Riviera. Stroll through the lovely city center and make sure to check out Cascais’ luxury marina, its charming fishing port, and a restored fort that houses many local craftsmen. After your free exploration time in Cascais, relax back on board your air-conditioned minivan, and admire more breathtaking views of the Portuguese coast as you make your way back to Lisbon.

I have to say I’ve been on many tours, but this one definitely takes the cake. If I was to give a golden globe this one would get an Emmy. The tour itself was beautiful and pena palace was just breathtaking, along with cascais and of course Sintra town, but the guide was what made it worthwhile. The absolute banter that was had while at the destination and on the journey even was next to nothing. Vitor was educational, helpful and an absolute gem of a human! His humour and knowledge was fantastic. He asked questions that allowed the group to discuss openly and bond as a whole, even with language barriers. We learnt all about different cultures and languages from different corners of the world as the group was mixed and we got on very well with everyone. It’s a 12/10 from me and would 110% recommend to a friend #pógmothóin

Mario was our guide he was fantastic. We had a nice group of travelers. From 20 something to late 70’s . Everyone had a great time. We walked up to the palace together had a room to room tour. Then had alone time to look at stuff we wanted more time with. Then we toured a couple villages. With self tour time. Then we went to the sea. Then back to the pick up location. The total time was eight hours. It was lovely.

The tour was great and our tour guide Vitor made it a lot of fun and kept us engaged all the time. One of my favorite spots during the tour was Sintra's Pena palace. So colorful and authentic. Every room inside had an own story. Vitor told the stories in a fun way which made it easier to follow. One of my favorite stories is the story of the word tea.
