Your Lion's Head trail experience takes place on a gravel track, taking you through spectacular groves of silver leaf trees. Follow a path that reveals ever-changing views as it spirals around Lion's Head. The breath-taking vista of the Atlantic coastline and the magnificent apostles of Table Mountain will soon come into view. Soon the gravel track narrows to a path, from where you will pass the first paragliding launch pad. Continue along the stepped path with views of Camps Bay Beach and Clifton beaches. Hike for another 30 minutes and reach a split. Continue with views of Seapoint to your left, and after 10 minutes, be rewarded with a wonderful viewpoint. See the city of Cape Town sprawled beneath you and the front of the Table Mountain rearing up high above. Then, move upwards to the first ladder, before traversing left along a shelf with a chain handrail. Continue on the path until you reach a fork. Choose where to go from here. Veer left to circumnavigate 2 rock pitches or turn right and climb the rock pitches. If you are not into vertical rock steps, simply continue left and carry on the path past huge stone pine trees to gain the crest of the southeast ridge. Follow the trail and a ladder to the 669-meter summit.
