    Covid-19 Update

Due to health and safety regulations, this itinerary may change. See Know before you go for the latest updates.

Discover one of the greatest art collections in the world on a guided tour of the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel.  Your local guide will take you to the most interesting galleries within the museums – the Rotunda, Gallery of Tapestries and Gallery of Maps. Each of these rooms contains ornate ceilings with the walls decorated with ancient statues, frescoes, and tapestries. Of course, the greatest gem of the Vatican collection is not a painting on any wall, but an entire ceiling and wall completely frescoed by the greatest genius of the Renaissance period – Michelangelo Buonarotti. From the Creation of Adam to the Last Judgement, Michelangelo dedicated some of his greatest years to the Sistine Chapel, working day and night – even sleeping in the chapel – to satisfy the popes of Rome. He also expressed his frustration with his employers with jokes hidden in his work. Today these have been uncovered and understood. Listen as your guide lets you in on Michelangelo’s private jokes.

Definitely worth paying extra to skip the que and our guide Angelo was great. He was very knowledgable and interactered with the whole group. There is so much to see you really do need a guide. you do also have time to stop at look, we did not feel rushed

Excellent value to skip the queue, saves you hours. Plan to hang around inside the Vatican after your tour as it's on the move much of the time and you're already inside once the tour is complete so you can go around and explore more on your own if you want. SO much to see. You can also then go up into the dome for an extra 10 Euro without having to go back outside to the queues. Our guide was amazing with so much knowledge on the history of everything. For me it's better than just an audio tour as you can ask questions and have a person show you around. Excellent value, worth every cent.

Our guide was wonderful - extremely knowledgeable and personable. It was a very stress free way to visit one of the busiest tourist destinations on the planet. I feel bad that I can't remember his name -senior moment. He was an archeologist and a wealth of information. I don't think I could even have begun to appreciate what I was looking at without his insight. The tour is worth the money just to avoid the massive lines. As we passed the first line at the entrance and walked right in, I was already satisfied.
