Full description
Embark on a full-day tour of Lake Mead and the Valley of Fire. Begin the day with a convenient pick up at your Las Vegas resort. First, set off towards your first stop, the Hoover Dam. Snap a few photos of the engineering marvel originally constructed during the Great Depression.
Then, continue onwards to the shores of Lake Mead, the United States' largest reservoir by volume, which supplies nearly 20 million people throughout the West with fresh water. When you arrive, be enchanted by the lake's beautiful surroundings, from the red rock formations of Redstone to the natural mountain spring water coming down from the Muddy Mountain into Roger Springs.
After this, begin the final leg of the journey towards the oldest State Park in Nevada, the Valley of Fire. Receiving its name from the Aztec Sandstone that was formed from shifting sand dunes in the early Jurassic period; the rock formations appear to be ablaze in the desert sun.
Visit landmarks such as Elephant Rock, Rainbow Vista, the White Domes, Arch Rock, and the Valley of Fire visitor center and museum. Also, take a short walk to Atlatl Rock, featuring a rock face covered in Native American petroglyphs, completing your journey through the natural and native history of the Valley of Fire. Conclude the day with drop-off at your Las Vegas resort.
