  • Langjökull Glacier: Ice Cave and Snowmobile Tour

    1. Langjökull Glacier: Ice Cave and Snowmobile Tour

Park your car at Gullfoss Café and be stunned by the monster trucks and super jeeps from that await your arrival. Your driver will greet you and then begin your journey to the glacial highlands of Iceland, from Gullfoss to Langjökull glacier. Enjoy the epic scenery on the way. There is a usually impassible road but the massive machinery eats through it, which is an adventure on its own.  Once at the glacier, step out of the monster truck and into the glacier hut to collect snowsuits and other accessories to keep you warm during the snowmobile ride. When suited up, head to the rows of snowmobiles. The guide will go through the details of how to operate the snowmobile, which is quite easy. After the introduction, select your snowmobile and wait for the guide to signal to go.  Ride along the glacier with good visibility to emerge in epic surroundings of lava formed rock mountains. A total...

First I want to say, when booking on this website, be sure to notice that you can change the currency rate on a tab in the upper corner, I did not see this and was charged more than expected. Luckily, I was able to speak with the customer service team and they refunded me based on my currency that I had thought I was paying, which was very good of them and much appreciated. The experience was amazing! We went in December and had a great weather day, although windy and chilly but great day for a ride. You are given zip up suits, gloves and a helmet. The cons: The staff wasn’t the friendliest and wish we could have snowmobiled a little more off course, but I understand the safety of it. The ice cave was cool but small so you don’t spend much time in there. Overall, it was a lot of fun and an amazing experience, how many people can say They snowmobiled on a glacier?!!

Located on the Hvítá river, the waterfall is fed by the Langjökull glacier and plummets down 32 meters in two stages into a rugged canyon. Top your day off with a drive towards Langjökull glacier, where you will drive a snowmobile and dash across the snowfields while gazing at the peaks and ice surrounding you.

  • Iceland: Full-Day Jeep Tour from Reykjavik

    3. Iceland: Full-Day Jeep Tour from Reykjavik

Drive across the summit of Iceland on a 9-hour scenic tour and see some of the nation’s most austere inland roads. Departing from Reykjavik in a Mountain Taxi Super Jeep, make your way towards Kaldidalur (Cold Valley), traveling alongside the western part of the Langjökull Glacier. Pause to get up close to this miracle of Mother Nature, and then veer north to stop at a lava cave named Surtshellir. Centuries ago, caves like Surtshellir were inhabited by outlaws! Today, they are simply breathtaking examples of nature at work. Feel the spray of the Hraunfossar waterfalls on your face as you watch them flowing into the glacial River Hvita from beneath tree-covered lava fields. Next, the tour drives through the historic site of Reykholt, home to Iceland’s famous chieftain and historian Snorri Sturluson. Best experience of the holiday

From start to finish , perfect, we were very lucky with the weather, fresh snow and sunshine , our guide Palli, kept us informed and entertained the whole trip , and gave us confidence in his driving skills , as the trip to the snowmobile was a journey of its own , worth every penny

We went with kid of 7 and 11 years old and we passed a great day. We did it in October and was cold but not so much. The ride last like almost 3 hour but every body get shoes wet ‘cause the ice was melting so know this !

Great day!

A full day taking in some of the major sites of Iceland - in comfort & style! Topped off by snowmobiling - awesome!

Great experience on the glacier, everything is planned to have a good time without getting cold!
