Sunset Tour to Agalas with Damianos Cave

3. Sunset Tour to Agalas with Damianos Cave

Begin your unique experience with a convenient pick-up from the door of your accommodation. Your local guide-driver of the day will begin by giving you a free map of Zakynthos before briefing you on your unique tour that lies ahead. On our way, you will enjoy the views of the olive groves, vineyards, the diversity of the landscape, the rugged but verdant mountains, the traditional village houses, the old churches, and the stunning panoramic views of the Ionian sea waters, the south coast as well as the southwest coast, until we arrive in our next stop. The first stop is Cameo island. This dreamlike, charming island is a beautiful little paradise, you will take a very awesome walk across the 100-meter wooden rope bridge, that connects the island with the mainland, enjoying the wonderful views of the gorgeous crystal-clear seawaters in which you can see many sea urchins and colorful fish, and if you are lucky, you can see the endangered Loggerhead Caretta – Caretta swimming around or under the bridge, or a groom and bride with their friends and families taking matrimonial photos across the bridge. The tiny little islet is known as the wedding island. What an amazing and perfect location for intimate wedding ceremonies. Then we will head to Keri village which combines mountains and sea. The main settlement is located in a mountainous area and the seaside is one of the island's most popular resorts. In ancient times there was a port at Keri, Herodotus described the tar springs near Keri Lake, which seemed to be more like a State. Amongst the pine trees and olive groves lies the picturesque village of Agalas, our next destination, with its colored buildings and the large bell tower of the village's church. The 150 m. path to Damiano's cave is loose and rocky, it is two-storied and filled with awe-inspiring stalactites and stalagmites, the view from the cave is magnificent, the hills are thick with vegetation and the sea extends into the background. On the opposite side of Damianos Cave, we can see twelve wells of Agalas, known as the Adronios wells. Our knowledgeable guide will inform you with insightful details about the Legend of the Dragon. Near Damiano's cave, we stop at one of the stone-built rest areas to enjoy the romantic, glorious sunset. Simply, unbelievable beautiful location, breathtaking views, great atmosphere and very romantic. We chose for you one of the most perfect locations with spectacular views to see the sunset that will make this experience even more memorable. When the sun begins to gradually touch the sea, it is the perfect moment to observe nature’s beautiful blending of colors. For us, what a better way to end your day !! What people are saying about Laganas

This was such a wonderful trip! There were only 6 of us in a lovely spacious minibus and our guide Sakis ( i think!) was great! We've seen couple of beautiful places on the way to the mountains - all beautiful and relaxing. The place of the sunset is magical - we've had some prosecco, listened to some romantic music and enjoyed the beautiful sunset and atmosphere. I absolutely reccommend this tour and would do it again tomorrow if I could! :) Miriam

The tour guide was really helpful, good arrangement (sufficient time in each stop, toilet time, swimming…) but the tour was a bit crowded as they eventually combine two groups of people into one boat. The glass bottom boat is a bit packed and passengers at the back can hardly see the glass bottom. but overall I will still recommend this tour to those who wanna do sea turtle spotting and visit the southern part of Zakinthos, really worth visiting!

The sunset tour was really worth it for us! Our driver Sakis was great fun and took his time with the excursion! The restaurant was our highlight. We could stay there for a while. Sakis was in no hurry to leave either, so we were able to stay comfortably even after the sun had set.

It was really beautiful, the whole tour was great and the guide was super enthusiastic. The view of the sunset was breathtaking, and so was the way there. Highly recommended!

The tour was great, George showed us great places :)
