Our tour guide James honestly made this experience that much better. I’m glad he was our tour guide. They kept the group small to 5 people. Wear comfy shoes closed toe because there’s a lot of cracks and holes in the sidewalks, you might trip, I did lol. He was hilarious and explained so much. The Lafayette cemetery no 1 is closed to visitors but you could see it really good through the gate. He also had a binder with pictures which were super cool to see. I recommend a water bottle and/or fan and use the restroom before you go because you won’t find any around the area. But i highly Recommend this tour. He also asked if there was anything specific any of us wanted to see and i said The American horror story house that they filmed at and we went by and he took pics for us. Thank you so much!

Val led us on an excellent walking tour through the Garden District after briefly stopping at the Lafayette Cemetery no. 1 and giving us many interesting facts. It is a bonus that he also happens to live in the district and has actually toured many of the homes we walked by. It was a lovely way to spend a few hours as we learned about the history of the area as well as the city.

This tour around the beautiful Garden District was a delight to the eyes and educational. The pace was manageable and allowed plenty of opportunity to ask questions and take photos. The streets and pavements are often very uneven so care needs to be taken especially if you have any disability. The guide added lots of local history and anecdotes which made the tour memorable.

We were lucky enough to take a Garden District tour with the charismatic, humorous, historical Guru, Mr. James. He is an area resident with a passion for everything New Orleans. His Conservationist outlook is highlighted with refreshing new takes on 200 year old architecture and local lore. Thanks James!!

Beautiful houses! Good information. Sidewalks are terrible so wear comfortable shoes. Tour guide was nice and knowledgeable. He walked extremely fast and it was hard to keep up with him. So we were totally exhausted afterwards. Not a leisurely stroll and missed seeing several of the beautiful homes.
